"How on earth could anyone give this dump more than 3 stars? The place was packed with tourists, mostly from other countries, so things can be a bit chaotic with language barriers. We prepaid for the use of the hot springs “pond” but upon seeing all the people using it, decided it wasn’t for us. We did the free tour of the greenhouse which meant attendees could look through a window into the greenhouse instead of touring, while the tour guide talked about hydroponics. The ice museum tour was a fun 20 minutes. After seeing the tired facilities, we decided to eat elsewhere. If you’re thinking about renting one of their cabins, don’t. There’s sidewalks on all sides of them and they’re located smack-dab in the middle of all the foot traffic. Pretty sure this place is an inside joke for people of interior Alaska as I doubt many ever return for a second visit. The drive was pretty, and there’s a reindeer facility at the halfway point that proved to be the highlight. But if getting in warm water with other strangers and their “fluids” is your thing, this place may be for you."
"Very fun. So much to do and really feels like home while you are there. Staff awesome. Clean. Organized. One star off: - restaurant either too small or needs more efficiency. Wait times seemed longer than they needed to be both times we went. - bath was too hot one of the days we were there so we couldn’t go in. No one could. It probably cooled off later but we had to leave. If you want time away with your family, definitely go. If you just want to see the northern lights, there are less expensive options like Murphy Dome for free. Overall - I would go again if I had family members that wanted to see Alaska!"
"Chena Hot Springs resort was a really nice experience. We did the hot springs, visited the dog kennel, and aurora charlie dome tour, ate at the restaurant and checked out the ice museum and geothermal tour. There was a lot to see and everyone truly seemed to want to provide the best service to make sure we had a great experience! Only one star less because most experiences have to be a scheduled tour and I like to explore a bit more on my own with less restrictions. Also, things seemed a bit costly for what they were. I enjoyed myself and highly recommend staying here to experience it all regardless."
"Chena Hot Springs was a great afternoon/evening adventure on my Alaska trip! The hot springs were absolutely stunning, and we appreciated the adult-only atmosphere, which made for a truly relaxing experience. The gift shop was fantastic, offering a great selection of souvenirs to remember our visit. While the onsite restaurant was decent, with quick seating for lunch, dinner did have a bit of a wait - about 25-30 minutes. However, the food was tasty, though we did notice the water had a bit of a funky taste, so it's advisable to bring your own or ask for bottled. One of the highlights of our visit was the tour of the ice museum. Our tour guide was engaging, informative, and had us laughing with their great jokes. It was a truly cool experience! Overall, Chena Hot Springs offered a blend of relaxation, entertainment, and natural beauty. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience before you go chasing the Northern Lights!"
"Didn’t stay at the resort. My family and I just came for the hot springs. Had a great time! Hot springs & hot tubs were super nice & clean. We loved that the hot springs were 18 and up. And we really appreciated the staff coming out consistently to ask the kids sneaking in to leave. The restaurant was also really good! The scallops were great, def recommend!"
