Begich Middle School

"Begich Middle School is a place were there is a lot of different races of people. A lot of the most disrespectful students there are the kids with a "Squad". They lack respect for people and the property of school. I know for a fact they smoke and do drugs. I as a student hate this. They ditch school to go to stores by Begich. My mother and I both feel like the principal doesn't always follow through with his job. On the first day of school one of my teachers didn't even show up to class. So far this is the third time. Some of the teachers always mention politics in the class, which irritates me really bad. They are suppose to be talking about their subject. Not about politics and their personal life. The students are very wasteful. They get lunch/ breakfast just to throw it away. Students write on the walls in the bathroom as well just stay there just to be on their phone. The students cuss and raise their voice at the teaches. They do inappropriate things. I do recommend some teachers here because they teach very well (Robert Bane. Madison Rosser. Robin Tozer. Walter Maslen. Keenan Casteel. Mariah Graham.) Some other teachers also really care and as well support the students. Eric Symmes took his own time to help fix my glasses case and I'm sure he helps many other students. Madison Rosser always tries to emotionally support her students the best she can. This is my last year at Begich Middle School I have been here for three years now and this is what I see at the school."

"This school can be boring 24/7! But sometimes (only sometimes) it can be chill? But most of the time is annoying and all the teacher ads are no help and they have to much sass to the students and to the teachers. (like mrs. IHOP)"

"Horrible.. They put my daughter is in house suspension for Nutella... ALWAYS PICKING her. She can never do anything right.. The principal is racist doesn't like natives I bet. They don't teach... Or have patience for kids. She's troubled.. Had a ruff yr nn half.. No understanding.. Need to get her a different school. Wouldn't put ur child here if I were u!!! Of ur child isn't perfect they will always have a problem."

This year (2014-15) the school theme is "Relationships Matter Most!" The focus is to continue building a caring, positive learning environment with high expectations."
