"I have been getting my nails done for decades and am admittedly picky. I expect the technician to be gentle, craft beautifully shaped nails that are not too thick, have excellent technique, use quality products, be painless with no chewed up cuticles or burns from their drills, don't get gel or polish on my cuticles, leave the undersides of my nails clean, oil my cuticles, have a clean shop, speak English well enough to communicate effectively, and be in a convenient location. After paying a professional for an expensive manicure I don't want to come home and have to "fix it" when they do a mediocre job. If I happen to go 3 weeks in between fills, I don't want my acrylic nails to lift and I want them to grow out with clean looking cuticles. It is more expensive here in Anchorage, but so is almost everything else. I'm actually thrilled to find an excellent nail salon here. I had an acrylic full set using a nude powder with 2 clean coats. The technician also offered to let me try chrome powder on top for the holidays. It's nice if you like the pearl effect, but maybe too pricey of an add-on for $10. I would highly recommend Today's Nails Huffman. My excellent technician was Helen, but the young lady next to me also had a beautiful set of nails and her technician looked equally as talented. This is the second nail salon I have tried in Anchorage since arriving this fall. I have found a nail salon that meets all my needs and I will definitely be coming back."

"My dear friend bought this salon a few months ago. She has been doing my nails for the past 5 years, and she does beautiful, excellent work that lasts forever. She is also organized, kind, truthful, always learning and growing as an artist, person, and business owner. The salon has only gotten cleaner, prettier, more peaceful, and more of a positive environment since she bought it and began running it, and she is passionate about the quality of experience that people have in her salon and about continuing to grow not only the salon but the people who come to work in it. My nails are never anything particularly fancy (except when she did them for my wedding... WOW!!!), but she is attentive to details, doesn't push me to do more than I need, can move quickly without forgetting things, always fixes them when I break them, the price is right, and my nails last FOREVER.
