"Captain Ben and Compass Rose Charters is the best fishing experience out of Sitka! He's been fishing the area since he was a kid so he knows a the spots! My dad, brother, and I had the best time with Ben. He made sure we got our limits and sent us home with more fish than we could handle! I can't recommend him and his services enough. You can't beat Ben!"
"Had a day trip planned months in advance with Ben. Confirmed location and time 2 days before boat trip . Showed up at the dock at 6:30 AM and he was a no show. Would not answer his phone, call us back, or reply to text messages. We waited for 1-1/2 hours with no word. So we headed to a hiking trail. We gave him the entire morning and into the afternoon to get back to us and he never did. We filed a police report because I had given a deposit and paid for fishing licenses. He finally texted back in the evening after the police called him. He did refund the money but what a disappointment."
"Just completed several trips with Compass Rose Charters over July 4. It was awesome. Captain Ben was constantly working, adjusting baits, moving to different spots, watching the screen and taking care of me. He even took the time to bring one guest back to the lodge and then stayed out longer to make up for the lost fishing time. His boat was extremely clean, comfortable and well organized so if you want to fish Sitka, please check with him. I know I will be back."
