"4.5/5 Excursion – Gold panning and dog sledding tour Max was fun and so was the tour, as mentioned you go back in time and learn about Skagway’s history in gold panning and dog sledding. It was one of the hottest days and I have to say- remember to dress accordingly, ughh it was hot and there was a lot of walking and waiting and watching, with that in mind I think this place should build more seats. I noticed a lot of older folks taking this tour (Well it’s a cruise and most older folks take the Alaskan cruise rather than head to the Bahamas or Mexico), they can’t stand 3.5 hours. You only get to sit in the beginning, the bus ride and back to the dock. Learning and actually meeting an Iditarod musher was really interesting, the pups were the cutest but they were 9-12 months and wanted to nibble on everything! The cookies were good oh and the panning came in clutch, $30 worth of gold! Do it, hopefully they add more seats for people!"

"Visited 9/18/23 on our first cruise! Dredge Town! What an awesome gold rush town experience!! Max Glacier was our guide and he was excellent! We had such a wonderful experience the entire time there! We were thoroughly entertained the whole time! Nugget was awesome and super hilarious too! We found gold too! We absolutely loved the history lessons as well! I plan to return to Skagway next year because of this experience! Props to ALL the staff working there as well! Thank you for such a memorable experience!"

"This is an absolute "don't miss" experience! Our guide "Slim Pickens" made the journey both a historic representation of the gold rush as well as a fun and engaging few hours of exploration. All of the elements were fabulous; visiting the dogsledding kennel, panning for gold, and the scenic railway."

"They do a great job of making this excursion entertaining. The fun friendly staff are dressed up like the 1800's, they have some cool stuff to check out and the gold panning is fun to learn. The sled dogs are so cute and it was fun holding and loving the puppies."

"Overall it experience was amazing! The train ride was perfect even though it was slightly scary when looking down at times. Slinky was a great host and has a lot of knowledge! He was also funny! Gold panning was slightly disappointing but it was honestly a great time! We did a train ride up white pass, good panning and last was meeting Dog sled dogs and their owners."
