Reviews of Juneau Sport Fishing
"Booked a salmon fishing trip during the last week of September through Norwegian Cruise line (They are terrible by the way) and it turned out that it was too late to catch salmon. After talking to the deckhand I discovered July is best. I should have done my own research, but unfortunately I chose to trust the cruise line and this sport-fishing company not to waste my time and take my money. Nothing was caught on my boat, but the captain on the other boat felt sorry for his passengers and after a short time of fishing for salmon, switched his customers over to bottom fishing so they would have something to show for their effort. They caught some halibut and rock cod. The funny part about this trip is on the way to the Marina, the bus driver practically talked non stop and really talked up the fishing, making it sound like the fish were leaping out of the water and in to the boats. Perhaps he thought it was July? Lol. The bus driver was practically dead silent on the ride back to the ship. Perhaps he heard me comparing notes with a passenger from the other fishing boat and could hear how dissatisfied we were."
"Beautiful weather, good fishing and Rob was an excellent captain, professional and delivered!"
"We booked an excursion for Salmon Fishing through Princess Cruise line, My husband and his friend and another person were picked up on the bus by Juneau Sport fishing, they were told that King Salmon was catch and release only (leaving 4 other salmon species) and that what they catch could be cooked on board or they could arrange for us to have shipped to our home at additional price, got on boat and was told by captain NO SALMON, the rigs were set up for bottom fishing. They expressed not interested in spending the money to go bottom fishing and asked if they could be picked up as they were 14 miles out and was advised yes and 2.5 hours and several phone calls being told another 30 minutes, they took Uber at an additional cost of $27 to get back. Had they been told this from the get go, could have arranged another excursion or made other plans. The gal Ms Jones (owner) yelled at me when I called for a ride and never discussed a refund or apologized for lack of communication. Princess is refunding us, nothing good to say about Juneau Sport fishing and I am going to file a complaint with their governing agency with State of Alaska. I tried to give no star but it wouldn't post"
"Purchased tickets for the fishing and whale watching. We got sick so tried to cancel the whale watching 2 days ahead of time. We were told there was a fine with a $ 25 per person fee. We agreed to the $ 25 fees. Later the 2nd day we were told they hadn't been able to get ahold of the whale watching company after leaving messages both days. Since they didn't return their calls we MAY be charged the full amount, they would let us know. They never called and charged us full price! Wish I could make money by just not answering my phone! We did do the fishing and were disappointed. Charter took us to one location and never moved the boat although we weren't catching fish. This is my first on-line complaint, but I think tourist should know as the tours are a lot of money."
"Terrible, Just terrible. Went Fishing with a guy named George, seemed he barley knew what he was doing. Didn't catch a single fish. His deckhand kept up talk with us and that was about it, George was quiet and it was just a waste of money."
