"A very historical JC Penney store! This is the "Mother Store"...the first of the chain. The surrounding area is designated as the J. C. Penney Historic District, which was declared a National Historic Landmark District in 1978 for Penney's role in creating one of the first national department store chains. There are lots of interesting things to see inside the building, in addition to an actual working store. The staff are friendly and amazing. A must visit if you're in the area!"

"Found just what I needed! As the winter retail season is ending, the store was marking down items to make way for spring fashions. The prices were bargain basement costs for new clothing. An employee by the name of Penny searched the store for me and provided several options for me to select. Great customer service and good quality clothes!"

"This is the original JCPenney store, who knew? Really fun to run across this store traveling through rural Wyoming. The store is an operating JCPenney store with clothing and accessories for all ages, and has retained the original architectural details, woodwork, counters, display cases, dressing rooms/mirrors staircase, tin ceiling, light fixtures and other memorabilia. There's even the original pulley system they used to transport cash between the lower and upper level of the store. It's a mix of museum and modern day shopping. I purchased a nice casual blouse and took many photos. Definitely worth a visit!"
