"We stopped here because our cabin wasn't ready...I had heard about and thought it would be a great way to kill time. It was! It was a short, but beautiful walk to his cabin. There was a lovely woman who was working and she was so kind and knowledgeable. The cabin itself is remarkable and the setting, spectacular. A very special place to visit. It's truly amazing how much work he did on the cabin."
"Great place to see how the pioneers lived. The cabin is restored to original. Looks like you had to be tough to live in those times."
"We were not able to access the cabin (closed). But seeing the cabin from the outside and the natural beauty that surrounds it was enough for us! This is an absolutely stunning and serene spot. You can hear the bubbling spring water, feed ducks (there is duck food for sale for 25 cents), see fish, hike, or sit on a bench or one the decked areas near the bridge."
"This is a place we regularly visit because it's just so cool geologically and also Johnny Sack was a really interesting man. First of all, this is a place where you can see the very beginning of a river literally just bubbling out of the side of a mountain. The salmon here get ENORMOUS, (No fishing!) and my kids love to watch them swim under the bridge. (Also no swimming!) As far as the actual cabin, Jonny Sack's craftsmanship is awesome to look at. The walk from the parking lot to the cabin is easy, but it is a walk on a trail and there are steps to get up inside the cabin. It's not wheelchair friendly. We've seen moose chilling in the river here. There is a beautiful hike that follows the river downstream a ways. It's the same river that the Mac's Inn tours will take you down, they just don't go up the river this far because it's a protected environment. I'm sure there are people who would be bored out of their minds and think, big whoop - big fish and a tiny cabin. I drove here for *this*?!?!" If you're one of those people, probably skip it. I think it's cool."
"This was a fun little stop in Island Park. We always stop in at Big Springs to feed the fish, and so we decided to take a short hike to check out Johnny's cabin. I was amazed at the hand crafted detail. It was more interesting to me as an adult than it was for my kids though."
