We got both the beef and the potato dumplings with everything on them and got a dish of sour cream they have in the fridge and it all was so good together. It gives a hole in the wall restaurant vibe but the record player is a nice touch. Give them a try if you’re in the area."

"I’m from Juneau- home of the original Pels. This tastes the same but over the years (my first visit in 2003) there has been serious shrinkflation and a crazy increase in prices. What I got on this visit (though delicious) I would never call a meal. The lack of sour cream is a huge loss as well. Why? Why nickel and dime us so much?"

"I was curious about Russian cuisine while visiting Alaska and was surprised there wasn’t more prevalence. This place was a great introduction to Russian food. They only serve one dish, which is like a Russian dumpling. The menu is super limited which I found novel and refreshing. Basically you either have potato or beef dumplings. The price is cheap, and the portion is perfect. If you just need a snack or a place to stop and plot out your route, this is it! Not only that, but the customer controlled vinyl player is a nice gimmick. There was an older couple there who basically had it on lockdown the entire time with something queued up. As luck would have it, they were playing some great music- lesser known stuff I’m usually too embarrassed to share on my Spotify. The combination of hearing my guilty pleasures and trying new cuisine made for a great experience."

"The dough on this local Alaskan's take of пельмени is melt in your mouth. Where I lived in Russia we made ours a little different. I did like their take on it and adding curry was a decent addition. The vibe was nice and relaxing. Wish the portion sizes were bigger so that I could claim that this is a good comfort food location. If you're in for a light meal, I would recommend stopping by here. Glad they have this up here in Alaska."
