"When I first saw Shannon, she was very understanding of my medical history. She was kind and fairly helpful. However, since I cannot make the commute to her office for my appointments, we've been using the video chat that Intermountain provides. When the secretary calls me before my appointment, they tell me to be at least 5 minutes early. I've given up doing that since by the time Shannon picks up the call, she's always very late. At the shortest, 10 minutes. The longest was almost 25 minutes. Everytime I bring up an issue about the side effects or that there's no change, she (metaphorically) throws another medication at me to see what sticks. I most recently had to take a cocktail of different meds and I always felt off, dizzy, and nauseous. My advice to anyone seeking psychiatric treatment: please find someone else. You'll only end up spending most of your time and money on multiple different kinds of meds she'll prescribe you."

"I worked with Shannon for about 1-1.5 years more out of ease and a sense of obligation. I never felt treated properly. Sessions were usually a few minutes and rarely, if ever, the full 30 minute appointment time. I felt like medicine was thrown at the problem. My current provider was actually in disbelief about how high a dose I was started at for a previous medication. Also, I would say that I was stable but still not feeling the way I would want to and the response I always got was that as long as I'm stable, there's no need to change something. Now, with another provider, I feel the way I believe is "normal" or ideal instead of just "stable" and "good enough" Overall, I would not recommend."
"Honestly in the beginning she was okay, but then after the second appointment with her she either wouldn't show up, was thirty to forty minutes late, or always had to reschedule. I understand things in life always come up, but when someone is seeking psychiatric help I don't think it's okay to leave your patients hanging the way that she does. Even if she was extremely late she would maybe only talk to me for about ten to fifteen minutes. If something has come up at least recommend another psychiatrist so a person like myself can continue on to get help."
