"We have a ring we bought through Kay five years ago with the lifetime warranty. After some minor damage we had it fixed about a year ago. Since then we've had to fix it 7 additional times. When we went in to speak to a manager he told me that rings just eventually break down and you can't fix them, comparing the gold ring to a washing machine. Several other analogies were used similarly idiotic. He offered to have it evaluated for a credit which would use up our warranty. We told him we would think about it and to send it in again to be fixed. He decided to get it evaluated for replacement instead. It was frustrating but we told him please just fix it. Come to find out now that it's been evaluated as needing to be replaced they won't fix it anymore at the repair shop. So the manager here neglected to tell us that, didn't listen to what we actually wanted, and tried to treat us like we were dumb and didn't understand that the lifetime warranty isn't really for life."
