"Claimed to have the product we were looking for, ordered it for pickup, I drove the ten miles to this specific location because of that and they start ringing me up. I look inside the basket: no [specific product]. “Where’s the [product]?” I ask. “We don’t have that one. It’s marked off. I wasn’t the one who pulled this order.” She continues ringing up. I then have to fish an explanation out of her by guessing why they didn’t have it, getting yes and no answers—I feel like I’m playing 20 questions with a teenage KAREN. She ended up confessing that “the inventory never matches what’s online.” Not a hint of apology or an offer to help me find the product somewhere else—she wasn’t even going to tell me that our order was incomplete! I’m now in a Kafka novel because within the last year they made it so significant others can only pick up online orders. My wife has me do this so she doesn’t have to load up the car with kids, etc. If the inventory never matches what’s online, what are we supposed to do? They’ve made it unnecessarily difficult and I hope they lose enough business to change their ways and get their SHIrT together."
