"Normally, this place is amazing and has the best staff who go out of their way to help their customers. Unfortunately, my experience this morning 4/23 at 7:30 AM was nothing like that. I went to use the espresso machine but it was out of grounds and needed to be cleaned. So I asked the overnight employee if he could fix it and he just shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't know how. So I went to get regular coffee instead and it was all coming out green. So I asked him about that too and he just shrugged his shoulders again and said it's cleaner. The only coffee without cleaner in it was decaf. So I went to the hot chocolate machine instead to get some cappuccino and the nozzle started spitting out dry chocolate powder at me. Literally nothing worked and I had ZERO options for coffee at 7:30 AM (busiest time of day for coffee) because the employee decided he didn't want to maintain anything whatsoever, despite the fact that he's had all night to do so. You seriously need to reconsider some of your staffing choices and/or make sure that every employee knows how to clean and maintain the machines. Not knowing how is not an excuse when you know a vast amount of your customers come for coffee. Seriously, having NO available options for coffee at 7:30 am is pretty neglectful."
"Bro the chocolate croissants go absolutely crazy here, it’s actually nutty compared to University pricing. I save like 2.00 per and I’m addicted to this stuff. I don’t know how they bake these things but I know the pastry elf they got back there is cookin’ absolute GAS. I’ll snap a photo later for proof. Update: The photo proof"
"Everyone at the store is great, i love going there. Except for the one employee who works late nights. He’s an older man who wears glasses. Everytime I go in he has a horrible attitude and is not willing to give any help. I recently went in with my app to redeem a coupon and he wouldn’t let me use it. He grabbed my phone and was speaking very condescendingly to me. At the end even though he had already scanned my rewards, seen my coupon, and activated it, he still charged me. He has a horrible attitude and gets mad when customers need any help."
"Follow-up: I have tried multiple times to reach this store, both by phone (they do not answer) and via the link I was sent. NO RESPONSE!! Thry stole $75 from my account!!! STAY AWAY from this thieving location!!!!!!! I was recently visiting SLC. My daughter and I purchased some items from this 7-11 - total cost was $34, using my debit card. I later noticed an additional charge of $75!!!! I have tried to call repeatedly and no one answers the phone. I am contacted Univ of Utah and local police."
"This is a good 7-Eleven. The cashier is super nice. I will explain why this 7-Eleven stands out from others: I was not having a good day. I was having a very bad day. Every other 7-Eleven in the valley, it feels like they’re watching you suspiciously. Not this one. In fact, it felt like the cashier was making sure to avoid doing that. I felt welcome & it helped improve my mood immediately. I couldn’t find something, not because of the store, but because I was flustered with other things completely unrelated. I found what I was looking for & went to the counter to pay. The cashier has a positive presence. That’s the only way I can put it. I think he could tell I wasn’t feeling well. He rang up my drinks. I paid & walked out. I crossed the street & realized I forgot to purchase the item I couldn’t find. I left it on the counter by accident. My fault completely. I was so mad I had forgotten the pastry. I stomped back into the store. There was a woman paying for drinks at the counter talking to the cashier. I felt like I had interrupted their conversation. She was talking to the cashier like they were very good friends. She smiled at me as if to apologize for taking more time than she needed to. I didn’t mind at all. I saw the pastry & asked if I had paid for it. The cashier politely responded that he did not ring it up. Not his fault at all, but mine completely. He scanned the pastry on one register then helped a person behind me on a second register. He smiled at me when my payment went through & I walked out again. I don’t go to this 7-Eleven often, but it is obvious that many others come to this 7-Eleven because of the positive atmosphere inside. I felt it & others do too. I wish more places like this existed. The pandemic has created so much distrust it seems… this 7-Eleven makes you feel like the pandemic never happened (even with my mask on). A happier time that many of us have forgotten about too easily. I’ll be coming back as often as I can. If you have never been to this 7-Eleven, go out of your way & see for yourself. You’ll be happy you did."
