"I love the store on Fort Union. It's maintained & always great help. But I ordered a new refrigerator 2 months ago, & when it came, it leaked. Said they'd send a replacement in another 10 days...never called with a delivery date or time. The credit account was charging late fees for a $2,000 appliance that I didn't even have yet. I used this store to finish a new basement, etc. But I wouldn't order another major appliance!"
"This store is great, I shop here several times a week. But good lord does their installation service suck. Multiple reschedules, no-shows, no call backs. Save yourself some stress and go direct to a contractor."
"What a wonderful experience, every worker there is experienced, smart and excited to help you out on any endeavor."
"Bought carpet and we are going on the 5th month to get it installed properly. On the first install Home Depot measured the room wrong. When the installer came they discovered this half way through installing the carpet. They left the wrong size carpet uninstalled laying around my home. In addition they left exposed carpet tack around most of my lower level making it unusable. They left it like this for roughly a month. I had to take numerous steps to have the Home Depot staff take action or try to expedite the repair that was a very real danger to my two young children. When the carpet was installed, the installers told me because of the carpet type (not a cheap berber) the seams may be more noticeable. He asked me to wait a 3 to 4 weeks to allow the seam to relax. I did, it never relaxed and it basically looked like two pieces of carpet pushed together. Home Depot never sent anyone to check the quality of the work. I was told by the installing company to call them. They gave me this big sheet of instructions etc. When I called them to come to fix the seam they did come back out and gave it another try. I applaud the effort but the end result was worse than before. Having now been in the process of having to move my furniture numerous times, to not be able to finish the home improvement project and the numerous days I had to take out of my schedule to get 500 ft of carpet installed I was less than happy. I went to Home Depot to see about my options for a full refund. Home Depot said I should have contacted them the first time... they insisted the could get the "good installer" to come take a look at it. I agreed. I try to be fair. The head installer came and looked at my carpet. He found obvious errors with the install and said he would get with the initial installer to see what he had done and then he would get back to me with the options how to repair it or replace it. I waited 2 weeks. I then had to call the installer company to see what was the progress. They informed me an a new carpet was ordered and coming. Shocked again because absolutely no effort was made by Home Depot or the vendor to contact me to keep me in the loop. At every step of the process I had to make extra effort and spend extra time to get the action taken on an improper install, remediation of the poor work and I had to be the quality assurance person. I had to go out of my way to research if the install was in fact poor or if the install I had was done the best possible. I thought that by hiring an contracting services through Home Depot that I would get a highly qualified vendor and I would get the support of Home Depot to be sure it got done right. None of that happened. Home Depot has compensated me greatly to make this right. For the most part I got the carpet at nearly at 50% discount. In truth I don't care... the discount does not compensate me for the danger they put my kids in and did not show any care about, it did not compensate me for numerous days I had to spend getting the carpet installed. Without any exaggeration I have had to spend a solid week of my time getting the carpet installed or communicating with Home Depot and escalating the issue to get remediation. In addition it does not relieve any of the mental frustration of being willing to pay top dollar to get the job done and then working for nearly 5 months to have 500 ft of carpet installed. Buyer beware."
