About the Business
Bloom Recovery is a health institution located at 470 East 3900 South in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. We specialize in helping adolescents and adults who are determined to make positive changes in their lives. Our unique approach focuses on addressing the root causes of symptoms to promote deep healing and long-term relief.
We guide individuals towards post-traumatic growth, helping them tap into their inner strength and courage to move forward. While we do not promote recreational use of illegal substances, we provide a safe space for individuals to process therapeutic experiences with psychedelics.
Our team works with couples of all backgrounds to help them reconnect and move forward together. We take the time to understand your struggles, goals, and history to set clear therapeutic goals for your personal growth and healing.
At Bloom Recovery, we believe that unresolved trauma and pain are often the root causes of suffering. Through reconnection to the self and a compassionate approach, we help individuals shift from anxiety and stress towards growth and healing. Our goal is to help you become the person you truly want to be, free from the wounds of the past.

"My name is David Scott, LMFT, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been a colleague of Alex's for over 15 years. I know how caring and skilled Mr. Runolfson is as a therapist. I highly recommend him!"
"Alex has been the angel I needed to help me heal and grow. He is knowledgeable and kind and brings a holistic approach to his care. He is always trying to grow as a practitioner, learn new skills and bring new ideas to his work. Alex is very gifted at what he does!"
"Alex is simply the best! I always leave our appointments better off than when I arrived. I love his approach and am so grateful for our time together."
"Alex is an amazing therapist. I've never felt that I clicked so well with a therapist. Alex pushes me to be my best self, and within a few sessions was able to help me address things that still hadn't been resolved after 20+ years of therapy! His style is a great mix of EMDR, mindfulness, behavioral, and other modalities. It truly aligns with me and my style. Thanks to his support and encouragement through therapy I'm pursuing my dream of running my own organizational consulting business. I will always recommend Alex to anyone looking."
"Alex is an excellent therapist that has improved my life in countless ways. It is really tough to find a therapist that you click with, I was extremely lucky to find that person in my first attempt at looking for a therapist for the first time in a few years. I am in long-term recovery and most of my experience with therapy is in the rehab setting, I appreciate that Alex understands addiction without it being his primary focus. In working with him over the last year I realized that the strictly CBT approach that allowed me to achieve sobriety was limiting me in some ways, particularly that I think it instilled a thought pattern of "if X happens, use Y tool" which was a little too black and white for me to achieve long term growth. The most important thing Alex has helped me with has been mindfulness, constantly checking in with myself and recognizing my emotions in different situations. I've learned that there aren't different versions of me for different settings, just that different settings expose different aspects of my personality. I've been able to figure out that 'work mode' was really just a state of mind, and that I can apply aspects of 'off-work mode' when I am working which allows me to connect with people more at work instead of feeling 'fake'. When I first came in, I was fairly directionless and was experiencing a lot of existential panic of having no idea where I wanted my life to take me. We started off seeing each other weekly, then every other week, now once a month. Alex's approach is one that provides you with the tools to fix your issues but doesn't make you dependent on him. I think I am nearing a point where I can make appointments as needed, but having a monthly check-in has been a great help during a really stressful time in society. Thank you so much, Alex!"
