"Disclaimer: make 100% sure that you are not booking your trip during inclement weather!! We visited Under Canvas Zion two years ago and loved it so much we decided to bring our two daughters and two of our friends. Unfortunately a winter storm was going to hit the day we arrived and continue for that weekend. We called Under Canvas before our trip. They were not willing to give us a refund or credit us for a different weekend. When we conveyed our concern for what our stay would look like under these conditions they assured us there would be plenty of activities to do in their ‘main’ tent. When we arrived we were greeted with a single sheet of trivia questions about national parks that you filled out and handed in - that was the activity for that day. The tents did have wood-burning stoves, but the stoves did not keep the tents as warm as they had assured us. You could see your breath in the tent the entire time. To add insult to injury if you needed an umbrella (it was a down pour our first day) you could RENT one from Under Canvas. At $500 a night that was a kick in the shins. I could go on and on about all the ways in which they weren’t prepared for this weekend, but I will stop here and just say this: You stay at Under Canvas for the experience. If the weather doesn’t allow for a wonderful experience and Under Canvas isn’t willing to issue a refund or a credit for a different time, then it’s their responsibility to create that experience. Shame on you Under Canvas for your greedy policies and your lack of ingenuity to accommodate your travelers that came far and wide to spend time at your location. What an enormous disappointment and waste of money."
"Under Canvas is a tent concept for people like me who like to try camping in comfort. There are bathrooms and running hot water and a very comfortable king bed. There are obvious drawbacks when you are on a canpsite, altgough tge location may be in beautiful surroundings. Its always further away from good Dining. There is a huge communal tent where you can get cooked meals from their menu and entertainment. Would definitely recommend this for a few , one or two nights stay . There are several choices of tent sizes . The coolest thing was being able to see the sky at night laying on your bed through the clear canvas."
"A super "Off the Grid" experience. We stayed the first two nights of the 2024 season with 8 of us in three tents. Our reception by the staff was most enthusiastic and fun. The tents were quite nice - very comfortable beds with lots of covers to keep us snug and warm. The mid-March nights were down in the 30's so a recommendation - make a cozy fire for the evening, go to bed and let it burn out. Their wood starts quickly, so crank it up in the AM for showers and dressing. They provided some nice hints for hiking and our son had downloaded one of the trail map APPs - a must I think. The camp is a little drive from Zion's main entrance, but convenient to both sides. The town has an abundance of restaurant choices for lunch. The camp food was great and reasonable. Most of all, the staff were fun and super helpful. We can't wait to try the other Under Canvas locations"
"The whole experience was amazing. We stayed 2 nights and it was mágical. Pictures don't do justice. That was our first time in Zion and no better way to spend the weekend than inside the park sleeping in these beautifully well done luxury tents. Yes it was a bit pricey but you can't put a price on the memories and feelings you get from it. Plus the staff was very friendly. Definitely coming back.."
"We had a fantastic stay at Under Canvas in Zion and could have happily stayed for many more days. The setting is absolutely stunning. It'd be nice if it wasn't a full 30m drive from the main entrance to the park, but it's understandable in order to have a beautifully peaceful environment and view. It's also only 10m from several of the activities we did like stargazing and canyoneering, making it an ideal location. The staff are friendly, helpful, and make you feel right at home. The room was maybe slightly less glamorous than we initially expected, but was still extremely comfortable. The bathroom isn't fully closed off from the rest of the room and the water is only one temperature for both the sink and the shower. You're in a tent, essentially camping, after all, so would be mindful to set those expectations. It also gets quite warm in the room during the day and cold at night. The heat is harder to deal with as small fans don't quite do the trick, but at night, there's plenty of blankets and a stove for fire (we didn't need it in October). There were mostly couples and a few families. Everyone was so fun to talk to around the fire pits at night. Overall excellent experience, would stay again."
