Dr. Cindy E. Sumarauw, DDS

"Painful complications requiring steroids, antibiotics, pain meds, and a root canal followed my crown procedure with Dr. Sumarauw in Dec. 2023. Another dentist in California who I saw to treat these complications asked me why my gums looked like "hamburger" following Dr. Sumarauw's work. In Dec. after doing my crown she sent me home with a bite that was off and even when I returned the next day to have her fix it, it still wasn't adjusted correctly. After developing severe jaw and joint pain I needed to see another dentist as well as an endodontist several times to fix her work and treat my complications, resulting in thousands of dollars for me out-of-pocket. When I reached out to Dr. Sumarauw multiple times in early 2024 via telephone, email and FedEx (with signature confirming receipt) to update her on my condition following her treatment and asking her to please call me, there's been radio silence. In Dr. Sumarauw's waiting room she has a sign 'jokingly' (?) stating that if a patient whines there will be an extra charge. Sadly my experience with this dentist seems that it's no joke and is perhaps indicative of Dr. Sumarauw's disregard for her patients' pain and health."

"I known her for couple years, and she good doctor but, she scammed me. She told me I had space between my teeth and that she could fix it. She told me that insurance wouldn’t cover it, she gave me Invisalign. I told her I will pay $1,200 in three months but, her office didn’t make payement plans so, after I had payed 1,200 THEN She gave me 5 Invisalign trays, and the plan didn’t work. I go every 2 weeks to change tray. So she sent me to different orthodontist , and I got advices from two different orthodontics. They said Invisalign isn’t for me, why did she make this plan for me. Also she told me she isn’t orthodontics and that’s why she sent me to someone else. Then she told me she would give me a refund, it’s been a month and I haven’t gotten a refund, every time I call she isn’t available. She didn’t give me calls or messages nor did she respond to them."

"Dr. Sumarauw is very intelligent and will give you the treatment plan that best fits your wage. She so bright and intelligent and very there for her patients that I noticed and that’s something you can’t find in a lot of places. Great place to work. Just wish the staff worked better together. But a wonderful place most definitely."
