"Brooks dropped me a client without even a heads up. I only learned once I reached out asking for advice. It was such a shock and 2 months later I'm still in disbelief. I was paying him $500/month for him to not complete or even start on the last month I paid for. He charged me for work he didnt even do. I also was supposed to be filed as an S Corp at the start of the 4 months of hiring Brooks and yet that paperwork never made his portal. After meeting with a more experienced accountant I learn that $500 for his services (even if it includes the end of year filing) is a ridiculous amount especially when I pay for my own software. My new accountant informed me I should not have been advised to purchase a monthly quickbooks account because Brooks should have his own software and was in disbelief. He charged me for services I didnt even need and didn't give me a heads up about critical to do's and not to do's as my new accountant did. My advice: hire an accountant who's actually looking out for you and has much more experience. I feel incredibly taken advantage of. Even after reaching out he never responded and he went on to deactivate my account, not allowing me access to my own financial information."
