"This review is for the Annex in Paseo explicitly. My barber of 6 years, Allen, moved here recently from Lakeside Barbershop following the covid lockdown. I decided to give this place a fair shake rather than lose my barber. Without question, I'm glad I made that decision. Being able to book an appointment is, in and of itself, almost reason enough. Lakeside would have had me either waiting for 2+ hours on the weekend, or trying to slip in at very inconvenient hours to get a cut from Allen. My wife used to, rightfully, question me about why it took so long to get my haircut. I had no good reason outside of, "That's just the way it is." At this new place, I get to have more control over my schedule. Various barbers had apparently been pushing for appointments at Lakeside for a good long while, but it fell on deaf ears. Lakeside used to have a tagline that said, "Welcome to manhood." All I can respond with is, "Welcome to the 21st century." I greatly enjoyed the separate suites each barber had, and it provided the feeling of posh private haircut. Each suite lets the barber be more relaxed and work in an more creative space of their own choosing. The lack of waiting area also provided some peace of mind with respect covid. Put simply, less people means less risk of exposure. Allen also is very diligent about sanitization and usage of PPE. At $26, I was paying exactly $1 extra versus what I had in the past. Considering the upgrade is experience and added value of time management, it is simple to see how this place is going to be my new barbershop. Hell, Allen is lucky I didn't try this place out before he moved."
