"I love walking the trails out here and running along the pavement and over to the Riverwalk and back again. Jacob's ladder is a fun little challenge for me as well to walk and eventually jog up and down. The park always has people jogging around and enjoying life. There's no litter scattered around, no loud disruptions. It's a most excellent place to bring family of all ages. There's a big playground, an interactive water feature (turned on in the summer), riverside hiking paths for both beginners and more advanced hikers and runners. If you have a bike, the trails are fun for cyclists too. I've even seen a man on a horse on the trail once!"
"We hiked the River and Johnie trails. The river trail is flat, scenic and shaded. The Johnie trail was moderate to difficult traveling up the side of the bluff. There are some very good trail signs, but many junctions with intersecting trails with no markers at all. You probably won’t get lost, but may have a hard time getting to a specific location. Good parking areas and bathrooms. Nice for a city park, adding good signage makes it excellent."
"This was a surprise for us - being our first stay in Waco! The parks were absolutely beautiful! Clean and well-kept. We enjoyed our day walking around, and there were plenty of people out having picnics and riding bikes. Definitely felt safe! I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a daytime activity."
"Best park ever! This is such a large park with so much to do here. Restrooms conveniently located all over the park. It sprawls all alongside the beautiful river. There are so many trails! Paved trails good for walking jogging or an easy bike ride and woodsy trails good for mountain biking or hiking. There is even a beautifully kept disc golf course."
"Very nice park. Lots of places to walk. Sounds like everybody already knows the mountain bike trails are great, bathrooms are plentiful and even a bridge to park under if it starts raining..."
