"I financed a side by side through them 4 years ago and never had any issues. Would definitely go through TTCU again."
"Went through the ATM with the family card to get cash to provide change for the estate sale. It gave me hundred dollar bills, so I went into the lobby to break those hundreds. Because I didn’t bring in my ID, they refused to change my hundreds. This is the second time I have been treated condescendingly at the East 81st Street branch. A small thing, admittedly; but it was annoying and wasted an hour of my valuable time. We will be happily closing the TTCU accounts as soon as we are able."
"Beware! This company lost my car payment and when I noticed that my payment didn’t hit my account I called them. I tried to make a payment over the phone and they wouldn’t do it without charging me a pretty big fee so they told me just to mail it again, let’s hope they don’t lose it again! What do you want to bet they try to hit me with a late fee too! Awful, awful customer service."
"I have waited some time to make this post, so no emotion whatsoever goes into this honest review. John Mason has made our experience with TTCU less than ideal. We lost our camper in July of 2022 to a fire. Fast forward to September of 2022 , He called to “help me talk to the gap insurance company” but within a few minutes turned to accusing me of somehow cashing a gap check that wouldn’t have even been endorsed to me. I still to this day do not understand the concept of what he was accusing me of. If a check is endorsed to TTCU, how would I have been able to “cash” it? (The gap company finally paid off my camper by paying the remainder to TTCU in March of 2023). That was my first run in with John. Back in April I had purchased a truck- and with interest rates in this economy I decided I will call TTCU, as their rates are very fair. I provided insurance and all papers pertaining to the buyers order. Roughly a week after I purchased the truck, John called me informing me I have a small window to add full coverage insurance, or he will be adding it. I explained it does indeed have full coverage insurance and I would happily provide him with my information or my agents number, he got snippy and said “that’s not how it works” I understand that as a creditor (TTCU) they have to have all of their paperwork in line, but I was literally offering it to him and he refused. I ended up having to do a much more lengthy process involving my insurance company who was not impressed with how John on TTCU’s behalf, was handling this situation. The credit union is great. But there are no shortages of banks or credit unions. Put the customers first, and don’t accuse them of fraudulent behavior with absolutely no evidence, or logic behind the accusations."
"If you have a vehicle loan with this company they will definitely try and add insurance to your policy, although they have your up to date insurance card... it's a racket... and you will have to jump thru a ton of hoops to get it taken off... they try added 28k to 3 vehicle loans and 19k to one vehicle loan! I had literally just refinance with them so they made me provide insurance obviously before the loan was finished... I feel sorry for people that can't afford a good attorney! Other than that they have good rates and the employees bless their hearts have been very helpful, the credit unions board members need to fix this!"
