"My husband went to renew his tags this morning. He went to Midwest City (MWC) Tag Agency, paid and received the stickers for his license plate. On his way to his next errand, he calls and asks what we need to upload for proof of registration. We are rideshare drivers, so our renewed registration has to be uploaded before it expires in 2 days. This is when he realizes that they only gave him a printed receipt and stickers, NOT THE ACTUAL PROOF OF REGISTRATION! By now, he's already far west, heading to our mechanic, so he's not close to MWC anymore. So he calls. Someone at MWC Tag agency tells him, "Oh, well we only print a receipt. We mail the actual proof of registration." Say what? How was he supposed to know that? Their response? "It's on the wall." Meaning somewhere on some wall inside the Tag agency, he was supposed to see something that said this. In 5 years of renewing tags in Oklahoma at multiple agencies, this has NEVER HAPPENED. Their explanation? "All Tag agencies are independently run and can have their own policies." Again. HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KNOW? You, the employee of said agency, have the responsibility of informing your customers verbally. A sign on the wall? Really? What if he gets stopped on Monday, April 1st with no proof of registration? As a black man in a very red state, he is very diligent about having paperwork in order because we have to expect the worst treatment and prepare. Not to mention that we can't work and earn a living past Sunday without actual proof of registration. A receipt won't cut it! Since he was so far away by this call, he also asked MWC Tag agency over the phone if he can get his registration printed at any Tag agency. They said yes, any of them can print it. What they DID NOT tell him was that it might cost him - $5 to be exact (This you, Northwest Tag Agency?), which he refused to pay, especially on the same day as renewing tags! He is on his way back now to get it printed at MWC Tag agency, who at some point said they could actually print it, but they default to mailing it. Why not give this choice, verbally, to the customer at the time of payment? Why should my husband have to waste time and money trying to learn YOUR specific policies? Say something the first time! Independently run and therefore allowed to set their own policies. SMH No wonder this state is so corrupt."
"I called 29th street tag agency for info and the girl literally said I don’t know that, you will have to figure that out… I asked for someone with more knowledge on the subject and she said there was no one cause “that’s like a personal problem”. Lol. I called the Midwest city tag agency and they were able to answer my question no problem!"
"I went to this Tag Agency and after handing over an envelope of information necessary to get a tag was told I was missing documentation for insurance and would need it faxed over, Called my insurance and was told I had all that I needed and then returned back inside only to be told I was then missing more documentation and “good luck” as she knew it would be a run around. After a 12 minute drive to Del City Tag Agency I handed them the exact same documents as my first visit at Midwest City Tag Agency and after filling out a few papers and 10 minutes I was given a tag no issue. Not sure if it’s a literacy, race, class or competency issue but there is a high possibility you will not be helped at this location."
"It took everything in me not to act up in front of my daughter!!! Called at 4 to get her an ID was told my the gentleman to come they close at 5. We get there someone is in line so we’re next (not) a lady and her son comes in not my complexion and she ushers them over quickly ignoring me and my daughter staring there so she can help him due to them coming the day before! Another lady comes in to get an ID and she yells I’m not taking anymore today!! I asked does that mean we are out of luck and she says yes and rolls her eyes!! Agree a back and forth and employees watching and laughing I just left to never ever return!!! Pitiful customer service from an underpaid employee and I pray I don’t run into her!!!"
"Christina was SO kind and helpful — BEST driver licensing experience of my life (and I’m 50! lol)! Seriously, it was fast and pleasant! We were the first ones there (arrived at 7:30 thinking they opened at 8, opens at 8:30), bring cash or check and you’re set!"
