Reviews of ACP Design - Anchor Custom Pool Design
"Had Glenn come look at my pool after some concerns about a job done by a prior contractor. He was very straightforward and upfront on what had been done(an overlay for my deck)and what had not been done correctly. He walked me through the process step by step and answered every single question to the best of his knowledge. I highly recommend him."
"Our pool was started in July 2019, now in May 2020 it is still unfinished. We paid the final payment in October or November with the promise that the next step was later that week. From then on it was very difficult getting in contact with the owner, Glenn and worked stopped. He admitted to financial flow issues with his business. We now need to have other businesses complete the work due to complete lack of contact by Glenn. We had received a good review of Glenn’s business by a neighbor who used him 20 years ago, and initially steps were pleasant to work with him. However, I echo the other review, the business does not seem to be what it used to be. Glenn has not completed this project and is very difficult to get in contact."
"UPDATE on review from James Harrington. Glenn Egger of ACP Design Never completed our pool. He became in Breach of Contract 8-15-19, a little over a year of the date the contract was signed. Mr Egger has never given our money back that we gave him for phase 4 of the project. In excess of $18,000. We've moved forward with new contractors to complete this project and at the completion of it will be in the ball park of 100k , an amount including attorney fees. A long way from the original agreement. I'm posting this review in hope of someone else avoiding being subject to Mr Eggers Deceptive Trade. Mr Egger has told my attorney that "it's his business what he did with that money" after he refused to provide receipts for money spent. Mr Egger started out as an attentive, christian man , we soon learned that he doesn't like to be corrected and will sit down if things are not going his way. We've been through every emotion with him, trying to get project completed. Our thoughts are that he may have robbed from us to complete another project. Something a lot of contractors do when they have no money in the bank to cover expenses. as a consumer these are just a few things to consider before signing a contract. Licensing ( He is not) End Date to contract agreement ( we did not) Established contractor address, NOT a PO Box (He works out of home) County Deed records looking for Mechanical Liens (He has several) Criminal Record! Ask for receipt of Subcontractors to be included ON contract( If general contractor doesn’t pay them , Liens may be put on your property!) Attorney fees can run in excess of $200+ per hour. So protect yourself! The picture below is what was still remaining from April 2019 the month we gave him phase 4 check) Till mid Aug. 2019 when we had to hire new contractors. Notice the piles of dirt that we ALSO had to pay to have removed $1400.00. I would advise anyone who has used him in the past, to not refer him to any of your friends or loved ones. Have a blessed day."
"Anchor Custom Pools started my pool in September 2018. There has been nothing but headaches with this company ran by Glenn Egger. The job started off great and the excavation was completed (even though it cost me about $4,000 more dollars because they hit rock....which was stated in the contract at $400/hour) in a timely manner. Plumbing was done and gunite was sprayed in. One of the biggest issue with the plumbing was that he had to hire the gas company to come run the propane lines but he never paid them. When I needed propane this winter I had to pay the unpaid balance (over $1,200) before they would deliver propane to us. Another issue was when they covered the plumbing they poured large rocks right back on top of the plumbing they just put in (again, Glenn was not here for that stage of the work). After this the job came to a standstill for a long period of time. There was always an excuse why Glenn could not finish my job (granted that we did have a very wet winter but every time it was dry out there was the excuse that his contractors were backed up). Other pool companies were building pools (three in my neighborhood) and construction teams were building houses (several houses were built during the timeframe Glenn could not finish my pool). Early this year Glenn had the stone work done and then things stopped again. When it came time to set forms for our concrete Glenn asked me for an upfront payment so he could secure the contractors. We denied this request. A few days later we were called and told that the guys would be out the next day to set the forms so please leave the check ($16,000+) in the contractor envelop. Well, the next day came and the form guys did not show but Glenn did and he took the check. When I contacted him about this he said he don't feel bad about taking the check. The crew did show up after a period of time to set the forms and tie the steel but some of the forms were set incorrectly and again Glenn was not onsite before the crew left so we are left with incorrectly set forms that are now greying and rotting. Glenn said he would be onsite every step of the process but there were continual issues such as contractors cleaning up after themselves, setting forms incorrectly, stone work that we had to request the crew to fix, gunite left at the street, form boards left in the yard, just to count a few. We have been waiting since April for concrete to be poured and Glenn told me on a Wednesday in early July that he would be out of Thursday (which didn't happen) and the crew would be out to pour the concrete that Friday. Well.....unforturnately, this did not happen either. Glenn then called me told me that the concrete crew is backed up for 22 weeks but he was trying to get us worked in sooner. Now Glenn will not return my calls or texts. My attorney will be sending him a letter this week letting him know we are filing legal action against him. Stay tuned."
