"Being a first generation Italian makes going to an Italian restaurant for dinner difficult because my mom or I can usually make it better and cheaper then most over priced places I fine everywhere I travel. This place though was worth it. I called last minute for a part of 11. Not only did they accommodate us but the waitress made sure we were able to experience the fresh pasta. She was amazing. Food was great service was awesome. Highly recommend"
"Good place. Not anything I would say was exquisite. Enjoyed watching the chef making fresh pasta. Was a little disappointed with 2 things: 1. When they brought out bread, we asked for pil and vinegar. Rather than bringing us a small bottle of each, they brought a ramekin with mostly oil and only a little vinegar, such that we couldn't really taste the vinegar at all. 2. We got chocolate mousse for dessert, but watched as the chef finished it by drizzling Hershey's chocolate syrup on top. Made me wonder if the mousse itself was also boxed pudding from the grocery store. We enjoyed ourselves, but I don't know it's a place we will go to again with as many other good options there are to try in SLC."
"Antica Roma is a new restaurant that is in the old Michelangelo restaurant but these two are not the same. We live around the corner from this restaurant and figured it must have been a re-branding but it's far from that. Michelangelo's was terrible but Antica Roma is homestyle Italian food right out of Italy. When you sit down, they bring a bread basket of perfectly seasoned focaccia bread as well as a plate of bruschetta, on the house. We ordered the Gnocchi with Pesto and the Milanese Di Pollo. The last time I tasted pesto sauce this fresh was in the Cinque Terre region of Italy, where pesto was created. The gnocchi has the perfect texture and flavor and paired amazing the the pesto. The Milanese Di Pollo came with 2 pieces of chicken with a healthy portion of spaghetti. The sauce was so fresh it tasted like freshly picked tomatoes. We took in our own bottle of wine so I didn't look at the wine menu. Their corkage fee is $15, very reasonable. It's not a fancy restaurant and it's limited seating but well worth it. It really felt like being in a small restaurant in Italy and I can't wait to go back."
"The chef personally came to greet us and explain us the new menu. The server was super attentive. We went for lunch on Friday and it was not busy. They bring bruschettas and bread before you order. Our pasta dishes were delicious and extra filling, I couldn’t finish mine. The chef gifted us dessert, extra recomendable ❤️"
