"We considered this venue for our wedding in 2021 but ultimately went in another direction. This venue, formerly Lichfield Ponds (rebranded, same affiliation), is featured in episode 3 of the Netflix documentary “The Program”. I’d recommend giving that a watch before choosing to spend your money here."
"Unfortunately I do not have a good review for Shangri-La Event Center. In October 2022, my now husband and I traveled from our home in St. Louis to southern Utah to view a few reception locations for our October 2023 wedding. We were thrilled with everything we saw at Shangri-La. The exterior property was beautiful and the clubhouse was going to be great for our wedding party to stay there the night before and night of our wedding. We went through with booking two nights in the clubhouse and a full reception for our destination wedding. In August 2023 I flew to Utah again to get a few more wedding things done. My contact person with Shangri-La unfortunately had changed since the original booking, and the new contact person/event coordinator was not cutting it. In the months approaching the August visit, there had already been multiple missed attempts at communication with Shangri-La. No one was answering emails. The phone lines seemed to be not working properly. At one point I tried to contact city hall of Toquerville to see if they were still a functioning business. He couldn't answer simple questions about the space even though he said he had worked there for 7 years. I had zero confidence in his ability to set up tables, chairs, or execute anything having to do with a wedding. We originally booked the clubhouse with the understanding that it would sleep 10 people. We then were shown the third bedroom that reeked of mold and was being used as a storage unit for tables and chairs. In my opinion, the entire inside space needed a big overhaul before anyone should have a wedding there. Unfortunately, with our wedding 6 week away, we felt so uncomfortable and not confident with Shangri-La and the event planner that we had to cancel our reception at Shangri-La Event center. The massive lack of communication and lack of definite answers was very disappointing to us."
"Had my daughter's wedding this week. The property is perfect for weddings. However, very hard to reach anyone with questions. The day of wedding we had to track down workers to get house opened up and tables and chairs set up. Then waited for table linens all day, showed up 2 hours before wedding which caused a mad dash to set up tables. In the end it was a beautiful day."
"We had our wedding at this event center this past weekend and we got so many compliments on the beauty of the space! It’s tucked away and is private. The space truly is fairytale like with its greenery, ponds, gazebos, waterfalls, and ducks and swans! Even the small house inside is so beautiful and great for getting ready photos and getting ready with your bridesmaids. The staff was also helpful with set up and the plan for the day and communicated with me up until the day. The only critique I have is in the beginning it was pretty difficult to get ahold of management to set up a tour or make a booking. Also, communication can take 3-5 days or a second message to get a response. I was also informed that the people who said they would be there to help take down and clean up the event were not there… Which is what I paid for and also tipped generously for. Yet my Coordinator was left to clean up alone in the dark- which I am obviously not happy about. Other than than those details, everything was great and I would recommend this venue to anyone!"
"This place is a dream! Tucked away in its own serene corner of the world, but easy to get to. The grounds a beautiful taken care of year round and the staff is so easy to communicate with. Not a single complaint ever! I have used this venue multiple times as a local professional, and every time I am more and more impressed with the care and dedication given to accommodate the guests."
