"First I give Dr Erin McAdams 5 stars, the best primary provider my son has had since 2019....... I give a 0 to the physical therapy department because they are a team of lazy bullies that don't know the first thing about physical therapy. My son was kicked out of therapy pretty much because I reported a therapist for scheduling him in the wrong clinic twice, not giving him any therapy and visiting with my son for only 15 minutes for an hour appt, talking about absolutely nothing! When my son finally got scheduled with the right clinic, neuro physical therapy. The other therapist refused to see my son because I reported the other therapist for being lazy! Everytime I call to schedule him for a same day appt, they refuse to work with him! This is clearly blacklisting a patient that can't speak or defend his self! Never seen a hospital where employees choose what patients they don't want to work with and management allows it! My son had about 3 to 4 visits and never not 1 time did they help him with stretching before therapy. My son right knee is contracted so his right leg is shorter than other and they gave him no credit for still trying to walk! They also talked to him like he has the understanding of a person with no head injury. My son is a head injury survivor with schizophrenia and intellectual disability so comprehending simple commands are difficult for him sometimes mentally and physically. The physical therapists are unprofessional, not empathetic and not very knowledgeable about how the brain works with body mechanics after a head injury!!"
"I had a prone MRI where you are on your belly. The clam shell shaped part of the machine that is supposed to cradle your belly was actually hurting my ribs! When I brought it to the staff's attention, their response was perceived by me to be bullying. So, I ultimately ended up doing a"plank" to get through the procedure. I was informed that there have been several complaints about the comfortability of that part of the machine... If the manufacturer does not know that there is a problem, how can they fix it?! I felt unheard, invalidated, & under the impression that nothing will be done to rectify this problem."
"Regardless of location, each U of U Health Clinic is a top-notch facility. The buildings are modern, bright, and inviting. The people who work at these facilities are generally very nice and helpful. My visits to the Sugarhouse branch have been very good. I'm not a fan of the faked piano music - I would rather see a real, live person playing than the digital, sterile background music electronically generated (I understand the reasoning behind that choice). Of course, that in no way diminishes the quality of care given at the location. Also, there isn't a lot of parking available. On a busy day, it can be difficult to find an open space. There is valet parking, though."
"Lots of wasted trips for no more than renewing scripts. I hoped a teaching hospital would offer some guidance for healing. Most of the Drs. are kind. Mostly see a nurse practitioner when referred to a specialist. Takes a year or more to see a specialist and longer for a diagnosis. Great at ordering tests. Some departments have problems with processing results. Not sure it's worth the drive anymore."
