"Great surgeon, great person. Dr. Shavney saw me within three days of receiving my cancer diagnosis. She had a plan formulated for my surgery and recommended and set up care with an oncologist and radiological oncologist. Surgery went great and other doctors I saw at her recommendation were great too. She was an answer to prayer for me."
"Dr. Shavney is nice and the surgery went smoothly. But her office is not run well. If you call, you will likely be sent to voicemail. You may or may not get a return call. I specifically asked if they took my Tricare when I arrived for my presurgery appointment. The front office woman assured me they did. However, a month later I received a notice that I owed $600+ dollars. When I called, no one answered so I left a voicemail. A woman called me back late the same day. I could tell she was in a bad mood right off the bat. She told me that they don't take Tricare. When I told her that I was told they did take Tricare, she was completely uncompassionate and argued with me. She told me she would mail my paperwork and I could file myself. If I had known they don't take Tricare, I would have hired a different surgeon!"

"Dr. Shavney preformed my thyroidectomy last week. While recovering from any surgery is never pleasant, I do want to say she is excellent. I worked in surgery several years ago and I have seen first hand how hard these cases can be. I came through with very little bruising and swelling. I still have use of my voice, from day one and am very pleased with that. I am thankful to have this over and done with. I did a lot of research before choosing a doctor, and I will be paying more out of pocket to have the one I wanted. but I am thankful for her skill and caring attitude. She was willing to answer all of my questions patiently and actually cares about patients individually."
