He has guided me through a very challenging breast cancer & brca 1 positive diagnosis in July 2021 I had a medical emergency & he came to where I was to get eyes on me. He did that from his office to the hospital. He genuinely cares about his patients & their families. I honestly always feel like, I am the only patient he has, because he takes that much time with you. You’re never in the dark wondering. My family always says, if Dr Thompson isn’t worried then we know it’s all good. "Dr Thompson is the best physician I have ever had. He always takes time to listen to me, discuss in depth all my results and answers all of my questions. I hope anyone reading these reviews realizes that the low score ones have nothing to do with Dr. Thompson and remove them and give genuine feed back regarding him as a physician. If you need to rate Mercy's staff, do so on their page and not specific to Dr. Thompson. Dr Thompson is a gem and is always there for his patients. He deals with a very serious medical concern daily, and always has a smile for you. No matter how heavy his load is, he tries to take some of that load off his patients as they go through some of the toughest fights for their lives."

"My appointment was at 11:00 AM. They called yesterday to change it to a virtual appointment due to the weather but apparently no one wrote that down. It’s now after 12:00 PM and I’m on hold, having had to call several times (unable to get through) just to be told they were expecting me in person and assumed I just didn’t show up I suppose. This is not the first time I’ve been kept waiting for over an hour with a Mercy Doctor only to be told I have to reschedule BECAUSE HE DOESN’T HAVE TIME FOR ME TODAY. Total lack of respect for anyones time. I take the day off work and their disorganization costs me time and money in addition to the copay. *edit When I actually got rescheduled and spoke with Dr Thompson he was awesome but the rest of the staff and scheduling was horrible."

"Dr. Thompson is good but members of his staff talk down to patients when needing help. They do not model Mercy’s oncology class directives. They treat the patient as if they are a hindrance to their responsibilities. Would really appreciate more compassion. If the office is understaffed they should employee more professional help."
