Reviews of Wasatch Women's Health - McKay-Dee
"I loved my experience with Dr wood. I saw 3 other obgyn before finding her! She’s a gem! She answered all my questions about my baby up, delivery went great she gave me a couple different options as far as birthing plan and made sure to give me all the details about what she’s doing each visit and explaining everything thoroughly. He’s super healthy, he’s at the 95% tile now at 7 months. At my visits it didn’t feel rushed at all, she’s kind, caring, she asks several times if I have any questions so I can make sure I ask her all of the questions I have. It’s awful to see a couple of bad reviews when my experience was so positive. Sometimes she may have to reschedule to be there for another delivery but that just means she will make a point to be there for you if you go into labor unexpectedly. Life happens, things change. I’ll continue to see Dr wood for my next baby :)"
"I’m giving two stars because I really like this office and the staff are very professional and friendly, I liked the nurses also. Other than that I was not happy with my maternity care here and actually ended up switching to another clinic for a better type of doctor care at 33 weeks pregnant. I wish I had sooner… My appointments here were always running late and by the time I was seen it was rushed , and felt pointless. It’s definitely a clinic that wants to fit as many people in a day as possible which really affects the quality of care. This isn’t my first baby and I can say that physical health of the baby and mother is just as important as the mental health and when a mother and father ask for an ultrasound 5 weeks before birth , you should give it to them without lecturing us about your opinion of it and denying the request. The lack of bedside manner and caring actually gave me anxiety about birth and labor I couldn’t stop thinking of everything that could go wrong (never has happened before). The unwillingness to talk about a birth plan and labor until it was within 2 weeks of my due date really messed with my head. The practices here are not for me, and if you’ve had a baby before , I would not suggest this office. If you have not then you are ignorant to quality care (not your fault) and I feel bad you’re settling for this place. Im pretty sure all the doctors practice the same quality of care here, but I can’t speak for everyone’s empathy and bedside manner."
"I started seeing Sara Wood as my new OB for my second baby due to my medical insurance changing. I had no complaints really, but the visits felt short and dry. If I didn't see Sara Wood, I would be scheduled to see Amy Loftus, both were okay. At my 31 week appointment I asked Sara when the next ultrasound would be due to not seeing my baby since my 20 week appointment. She stated the next time that they do one is at the 37 weeks . My next appointment was July 5th and I called the Friday before to request an ultrasound to make sure my baby was okay and to check up on his measurements, I made it clear that I already knew that my doctor said that the next one wouldn't be until my 37 week appointment, but I would really like one done at my next appointment (July 5th 33 week appointment) so I knew my baby was growing correctly and for my peace of mind. I got a call later that day from the same customer service rep letting me know that Sara Wood told her that it was not beneficial to her to do an ultrasound for the upcoming appointment since it doesn't really give them any good information on the baby and they prefer to wait till the 37 week appointment. My last few visits felt pointless as they only took my vitals, asked me how I was going and briefly listened to the baby's heart. I am very concerned with their quality of patient care. I have never had a request been shut down so rudely. I ended up switching OB's and went back to my midwife Mari Stuart even if that meant paying more out of pocket due to insurance. Mari was able to reassure me as a mom that my baby was growing at the rate he should be and gave me an estimate on his weight. I also found out he is breeched and we started a plan to get him to flipped. She also scheduled another ultrasound for my next appointment to see if there have been any changes."
"I have been going to Wasatch OB/GYN for years now and they have shown me what wonderful and caring providers they are. They provide me timely care for my needs, they supported me during an unexpected pregnancy that ended up needing an unexpected C-section, and through all of that and my other health concerns over the years, I have ALWAYS received kind and professional care from the wonderful women here. They remember me when I come in, they make me feel heard and although they are busy, I know they will always help me understand my choices and support me to live the healthiest lifestyle I can, mentally and physically. There are some comments regarding communication I have seen here, and I have had some similar experiences, however I feel that the quality of care I have received outweighs any concerns I have had regarding communication."
"I came for a follow up appointment from the ER due to a miscarriage. The ER told me to follow up with my OB to see if I needed a D and C. My OB couldn’t see me for 5 days. I was ten minutes late to my appointment (unfortunately), and they told me my OB wouldn’t be able to see me for two weeks. The ER wouldn’t do anything without my OB. Now I don’t have another option besides going back to the ER for the third time to tell them my OB can’t get me in. This office is pretty good when you’re on time, but they don’t handle urgencies well."
