"I withdrew from a course after a few days and was charged in advance, and even though I received an email regarding a refund, I never received it. I contacted them several times about it and showed them my receipts, and they told me they didn't have the transaction in their system. My transcript shows I withdrew from a course. I was doing Pathway Connect because, at the time, I wanted to practice English and withdrew from it because I already had an international bachelor's degree. However, they kept contacting me to go back to the program."
"I don't often write negative reviews. But this semester's registration process has been absolute trash. I love that the church is trying to provide affordable education. But it no longer is affordable when you have to take 20 unnecessary classes before you're able to register for the classes that are required for graduation. The only way to get your necessary classes in is to send in a ticket with Pathway support team. The degree registration portal is constantly malfunctioning. It's great to start your degree, but I wouldn't recommend it for your last year of school."
"I love the church for wanting to provide an affordable education. This program is great if you don't have any issues. I NEVER make reviews. EVER. But I needed to make one so that I can warn people who want to do this program. If you are one of those people who need communication or help with things. You aren't going to get it. I am finishing up my fourth semester with Pathways and I am incredibly frustrated. Getting any type of communication is non existent. I have had a BUNCH of questions about classes I need to take when I could graduate with no response. Well maybe your thinking, they might be busy give them time. I had a advising ticket sent out at the beginning of the semester. ITS BEEN 11 WEEKS. Its almost the end of the semester and I have not had any type of response from then what so ever. Some semesters ago I wanted to switch catalog years for my degree. It took almost the whole semester to do that because they do not communicate at all. To add on top of this, their degree planner page is the worst thing I have ever experienced. They only show you your current semester and the next 2 semesters worth of classes. You do not get to pick which extra classes you get to take. They give you random ones. My brother does pathways as well and had to HOUND them to have some classes changed. Not to mention they give you a peer mentor who is a student like us and has no/incorrect information about anything. I do not blame any of the student mentors, I do however blame the school for giving us what they thought would be a great idea to help communication. I talked to another student about this stuff and he said that they keep information like its a launch code, he was not wrong. I applaud you for reading this whole thing. Anyway don't do this program."
"My wife is in the Pathways program. After the first few terms, it is a total mess. No contact directly with professors, just people who administrate the class and don’t seem to be able to correct incorrect test questions and materials. They push you to a web experience to get support. Unfortunately, the technology doesn’t work, the peer mentors don’t have many answers, and there are no advisors that you can get a hold of to get advice on transfer credits, which courses to take when, and help with any career guidance. Though it is cheap, it is incredibly difficult to complete a degree. Consider other online options."
"Best international institution which is uplifting both in spiritual and secular learning. They may not have the best contact support yet, but patience will keep you in everything, and that's what it also taught me. I'm grateful to BYU Pathway, how they can helped me in my online studies even if I have a full-time job, and been needed in my family responsibilities. Such a great university!"
