"Had a hospitalization in May of 2023. Staff was amazing, care was great, and they got me back well. The issue came with the billing department. I gave my insurance card when I checked in. The "Beaver Medical Clinic" contacted me that my insurance wasn't working. I realized I had an old card. I got them my new one, and they ran it and got paid. I was like, "cool, done", and carried on with life. 6 months later, a collection agency with the "Beaver Valley Hospital" (a different part of the hospital) contacted me with a $5k bill. I gave them insurance, and it was denied because it was not billed within 90 days. I got no phone call, no letter, no nothing until the collection agency called. Long story short, their billing department is terrible. Make sure you track every part you got service from, and follow up to confirm payment."
"The hospital is beautiful, the staff is friendly, professional and helpful. I hear people refer to it as a small town hospital but I'd say a better description would be that it's a hospital in a small town. They offer a lot of services, including surgeries and they're in the process of expanding which will afford them the ability to offer a lot more which is nice for the community to not have to travel to bigger cities for certain testing and procedures."
"I had an ectopic pregnancy in December 2021, not that this hospital knew. They did an Ultrasound for 3 hours and could not identify what the "free fluid" in my abdomen was, it was blood because I was bleeding internally after my fallopian tube ruptured. The tech was face timing her friend asking her if she had any suggestions about what was going on, so it was a violation of privacy. I had never been in more pain and they gave me an IV with the equivalent of ibuprofen (which is not good for A a pregnant person or B a person who is bleeding internally). Then they found out I was pregnant, told me a due date, and showed me the sack on the ultrasound. We were so excited. But they did not have the resources to figure out what was causing me so much pain and what the free fluid was in my abdomen, so they released me to ST. George, but told me that the ambulance would take so much more time than if we just drove ourselves OR we could wait there overnight to monitor the situation. Because we wanted to do what was best for my health and the baby's health, we left and drove the 1.5 hours to get real help. So they made us sign release paperwork and we drove ourselves down to St. George. When we arrived in St. George we were scared and exhausted. Intermountain identified my ectopic pregnancy almost immediately and rushed me into emergency surgery. I was devastated that I was not going to be having a baby the next year and that the due date they gave me was a complete lie. Had we stayed at beaver, I probably would have needed to be life flighted to save my life. Could not express how disappointing and traumatic this experience was at Beaver Valley Hospital. Just save yourself the time and energy and drive to St. George, Beaver won't do a thing for you."
"I was moving from Tucson to Spokane, WA. I stopped to spend the night at the Quality Inn (very good by the way!). I woke up at 2:30 a.m. realizing I was heading towards a nasty bladder infection. Googled hospital near me, and drove straight to the only one in Beaver. I was the only one in the ER & was promptly evaluated, given a pill to get me started & and a prescription. The personnel was very professional, friendly & compassionate. I was very grateful."
"Because the Milford Clinic staff didn’t do their job, I ended up in the Beaver ER. When we got the bill, I sent a letter contesting the charges because it was their staffs fault I was there (plus their prices were drastically inflated) but that I would pay a portion of it, which I did. Three months later I finally get a response from the hospital via phone call after I sent my letter again with a tracker to make sure it got there. After that call and an additional follow up call a week later, I was basically told they didn’t do anything wrong, and I was responsible for the $1000+ bill. And that their facilities were the same quality as these bigger hospitals which is why they are charging me those prices. I asked for their official response in writing and they sent me a flippant letter over a month later basically saying they already talked to me about the issue and I should pay up. They have no concern for their patients, just the money. Which is why, at seven months pregnant, I switched to a doctor in Cedar City because I was not taking my chance at their facility with my baby. If I could give them a zero I would."
