"Bret Goodwin is the instructor for High School students who completely construct a home in a school year. I was a nearby neighbor in Orem as he was working with students on a beautiful home. I noticed the respect and kindness he showed his students and in return they were very respectful to him. When he asked for something they cheerfully volunteered to help and it was a wonderful experience to observe a teacher who truly cared about his students, and to observé their positive interactions."
"Alpine school district has shown me that kids are the highest priority. Taking good care of their employees has historically been a key part of the equation."
"The lady at the front desk stopped her other conversation to welcome me and ask if I needed any assistance. The lady I met with for my appointment was also super kind. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience."
"Alpine School District does not care about the safety of the kids and will lie directly to your face when questioned about it. My kids' elementary school starts at 8:00. this isn't okay in that the school: 1. It is not a bussing school and isn’t dependent on the bus schedule. 2. Kids who are walking or riding bikes/scooters to school do so in the dark. 3. They have to do it during morning rush hour. 4. Many of the kids have to cross between one and three busy streets to get to school. It feels like in determining the start time, the only kids considered are the ones who live within a few blocks of the school, and all the other kids were forgotten and/or dismissed. It is about ¾ of a mile from where I live to the school and there are kids further away than we are. My kids love riding their bikes to school, but I won’t let them now because they have to ride in the dark, during morning rush hour, while crossing busy streets. I see near accidents on these streets weekly, and the district is okay letting our kids cross them in the dark during rush hour. I addressed this with the district last year and was told by the supervisor over our elementary school that it was a decision made by the school and that the district had nothing to do with it. That has proven to be an outright lie. I cannot in good conscience recommend a district that actively puts our kids lives at risk while lying to pass the blame to someone else."
"The district office is clean and professional. I had to go in for finger printing (in order to be a volunteer at school) and the process was quick and easy. I got in and out. You make an appointment on their website before coming in. So things went very smoothly. I’ve been through this process before, at another district, and it wasn’t as fast of a process. The workers were also kind and friendly."
