"This school is horrible I can complain starting from drop off to pick up, my biggest concern is that my grandchild was playing on the slide that had chemicals on it causing her burns with gigantic blisters and yet nobody knows anything, they said nothing till she was picked up from school and at that time they said it was a small rash WRONG!!!!! SHE MISSED 3 WEEKS OF SCHOOL BECAUSE SHE HAD TO HAVE IT WRAPPED WITH BURN CREAM. My older granddaughter used to love school before coming here never had any issues with behavior and now hates it and complains her stomach hurts or her head so she's can leave, they are telling us she has to be held back for her reading but don't want to offer any extra help I give this school a negative 10"
"I am a pediatrician in the Salt Lake community and see children with a variety of conditions, including anxiety, ADHD, and autism spectrum. Based on my experience, APA schools do not have adequate support services for children with academic or behavioral challenges. Most parents of children with academic or behavioral concerns have become so frustrated trying to work with the special education coordinators and school administration to help their children that they have opted to enroll their children in public schools where special education services are more widely available. (One parent even stated that the special education coordinator lost her son's IEP and it took half a year for them to acknowledge that he needed his classes adjusted.) It seems to me that APA cherry picks its students in this way. It may be a great school for some kids, but certainly not all kids."
"This is a great school if you want your kid to be bullied by not only the kids but also the teachers and leaders of the school. They do not help the problem and also calling it "life lessons"? I'm not sure what life lessons American Preparatory Academy is teaching but it is not a good one. This school is absolute rubbish when it coming to actually protecting it's students. Unacceptable!"
"If your child has an IEP, do not sign them up for this school. Your child educational rights will be violated. I had to have Utah Parents Center review my child IEP and confirm they had nothing to support her. She had been in school for half the school year suffering hating school because not one person tried to understand her. I moved her to a new school who had her in speech therapy on the second day and they have a resource teacher and a counselor and physiologist she is blossoming at her new school and she love it."
"My kids attended this school the first year was amazing all about the kids. Second year just went down the hill. All the kids are rude and bully one another. Lunch was cold mozzarella sticks the school focus more on non English speaking parents(having ESL classes) when those funds should be used on the kids. The education is great but the environment is awful."
