"I’ve met and heard the most incompetent people that work here. This district has terrible Human Resources for employees, administrators at schools are lazy and do nothing that inconveniences them in the slightest even when student safety is involved. They treat teachers like garbage (speaking from experience) and do not care about listening to teachers concerns."
"I've worked with, attended and had children attend Jordan School District and have had great experiences with them!"
"I'm looking at these reviews, and all are fairly old and outdated, except for the most recent about substituting. I have had all 4 of my kids go through JSD public schools; I have had 2 who have been in special Ed, I have been involved as a volunteer at the elementary schools and the PTA, and later, worked as a paraeducator, at Bingham, while my kids were there. I've been a substitute the past 2 years and have had hard days but also some really great days enjoying the kids. I have found that, overall, most of the teachers at all the schools are overworked, underpaid and underappreciated by parents and their salaries from the District. But the teachers are dedicated and do this job because they love it. That is something I have found true here, too. I've also noticed a significant difference students and parents since COVID, with the level of apathy and lack of engagement. Mental health issues and keeping students motivated/engaged is now something that will define this generation. But there is a lot of goodness among the mental struggles, and I believe these kids will continue to teach us all about managing anxiety and life's uncertainties, with the help of these many caring folks who work within our school district."
"Oh my goodness, Canyons School District is such a better district to sub for. Jordan thinks they’re paying top dollar to their subs but they don’t tell you if they’re going to abuse you and use you for every prep. That they have vacant and not pay you extra like Canyons does. They wonder why they can’t get subs and it’s because some other dumb policies on pay that don’t make any sense. You learned a little during Covid but if you have a little more to go to treat substitutes like really employees and give them some kind of benefit to stay and the regular every day. This is why you have 30+ unfilled jobs every day. Your subs are going to Sub for Canyons District even if it is a little bit more of a drive."
"Parent Alert - The school called South Jordan Elementary made me have the worst experience of my life, they lost my son twice in the same month, they lied to me, they never apologized or regret what they did to my son, introducing him on a strange bus, they told him to get off in the middle of the street and nobody where he was for more than an hour. To this day it hurts my heart, don't trust this school, they don't really care about your son. My worst experiences were there, I almost died of despair. Find a way for your child with a GPS, children are not safe there. I spoke to the police but nothing was done. If your son goes missing at school they will blame you or blame your son, my son is only 6 years old. If you don't take care of your child's safety, no one will be responsible even if your child is under their care they don't really care."
