About the Business
The American Academy of Innovation, located at 5410 South Jordan Parkway in South Jordan, Utah, is a school that ignites innovation in its students. Using an individualized, project-based approach to education, AAI believes that learning and personal growth are enhanced when students make meaningful connections that inspire their educational journeys. Students at AAI enjoy coming to school because learning is made fun and engaging.
At AAI, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to education. The school recognizes that students learn in different ways and at different paces, and their educational philosophy is built on this understanding. AAI offers flexible learning environments with three options to choose from, including support for learning at school, at home, or even abroad. Experienced and certified teachers at AAI are dedicated to providing the support students need for individual growth.
AAI's Project-based Learning and Competency-based learning frameworks create a hands-on educational environment where students can follow their interests and take control of their own education. The school also offers unique opportunities such as week-long electives and Friday Workshops that encourage collaboration, exploration, and creativity.
Throughout the year, AAI students work directly with CHOICE Peru to develop and execute initiatives that address pressing issues in local villages. The school also offers Career and Technical Education Pathways in Animal and Veterinary Science and Programming and Software Development, giving students real-world exposure to skills and knowledge needed for their future careers.

"Personally, I have come to the school ever since I was in sixth grade so I’ve seen mostly everything change the school is pretty good. It’s definitely improved over the years it’s had some ups and downs. I think Covid personally ruined a lot of things about the school. The school is really cool it’s really small and can be nice and simple at certain times. Sometimes it’s really easy to get the classes. But the only really down fit about the school is it’s way it handles bullying half the time the school just ignores it or they will say that they’ll talk to the person which they never ever do I’ve been getting bullied here and I kept reporting it and the school did literally nothing about it except I talk to the students and what they were doing was really messed up and I’ve been researching about it. The school was supposed to notify parents it just has a really big issue in bullying Also, the school has an issue with giving a second chances. I am cool with giving second chances in whatever but that’s cool just gives away too many chances. There’s been multiple times where people have just been depressed and sad and the school that has absolutely nothing to For example, my friend was really depressed and the teacher asked if there was anyone that he could talk to he said the name and she changed her mind and said we can’t do that and locked him in the room like honestly sometimes the os school makes a public school look better I’ve been going through here ever since I was in sixth grade and still am but this school is a hell sometimes also some of the teachers and counselors there aren’t professionally license well if there’s anything I can save up for school that’s bad a negative is they just need to fix the bullying issues here"
"I go to this school and personally I love it here, I do understand the complaints though. I myself do not like the food but it's fine, for the record I am a picky eater so my opinion is kinda wack, I can look around the lunchroom and find several people eating the lunch no complaints. We have a great school counselor, she is almost like another parent, even if you're getting bullied in one specific class you can change your schedule to a different class. There was a problem at the beginning of the year with some kids vandalizing the bathroom, they had to shut the upstairs bathrooms down for a while but afterwards it was fine and nothing like that happened again. None of my friends or me ever had any bad experiences like bullying or something else bad. The teachers are great if you need help they will gladly help you no problem. What I'm saying is this school is pretty nice with a good dose of flaws they are working on, me and my friends love it there."
"I’ve never seen any bullying here and most people here do have mental illnesses in my 2 years of being here I’ve never seen legitimate bullying and that’s saying a lot since I don’t have many close friends. All of the negative reviews are quite over dramatic overall it’s not too bad. Also those who say empower is bad or whatever clearly haven’t took the time to learn it."
"This place is terrible. My friends and I were bullied because of our ADHD. They change the entire way the place works every year. Several teachers are rude to the students. The people who run the place won't stop yakking about how friendly the school is, but it is not. Most of the five star reviews are by people who work at the school. The owner almost only responds to reviews about the teachers and food. I begged my parents to let me leave, but I couldn't until I'd been there a total of 1.5 school years. I've been in many schools, but this was the worst."
"Finally, an environment that is preparing my child for the future and not the past. What a relief to drop my child off every day, and know they won't be bullied or labelled by teachers or administrators because they don't fit the assembly line. Here they teach my child how to think, not what to think. Real learning actually happens, and creativity is encouraged, not squashed out. I look forward to a future when every child has a school like this in their neighborhood."
