My son has special medical needs and the care team has gone above and beyond to not only make sure my son is safe, but make sure that I’m aware of it. I’m so thankful we have such a great team looking out for us. The teachers, principal, nurse and office staff have all been outstanding."

"My daughter is now in her second year at Hawthorn. We love this school! We loved her teacher last year, Mrs. Salaz, and so far this year, Miss Parker is great! Mr. Craig, the principal, is outside every morning to greet the children as they arrive. That alone speaks volumes and is representative of the kind of involved principal he is! The office staff are wonderful, the counselor Ms. B is wonderful, we haven’t had one bad experience with any of the faculty and staff we’ve interacted with. I love the fact that the class sizes are controlled, as it is a public charter, so they’re not at the mercy of the number of children within a boundary. Hawthorn is a certified IB school (International Baccalaureate), so they have a great teaching methodology."

My daughter has a great teacher, but she also has a number of other adults in the building (secretary, principal, aids, etc) who watch out for her and make her feel welcome. "My kids LOVE Hawthorn Academy. My children were accepted after school had already begun last year and so it was a difficult decision to move them from the neighborhood public school over to a new school just one month into the school year. BEST decision I ever made. The education is so well rounded. The teachers love the students and are required to keep up to date on material and continued education. I love the faculty and staff. This school is an IB school. You should check out what that means as far as the education that your kids are receiving. One thing that the school does, that I absolutely love, is a service project for Christmas instead of a Christmas party. They are teaching the kids to see beyond themselves and notice the world around them."

"We have been at Hawthorn Academy going on our third year in the fall. We have had awesome teachers who truly care about our children and their progress. I have a child who requires extra help in reading and her 1st grade teacher was amazing. She kept us informed about her progress and worked with us to help her at home as well. Last year her kindergarten teacher and her aid created a little after school program for my child and a few others to help them with reading skills which helped her a lot going into 1st grade. We have not had a teacher here that wasn't great. I feel the admin are all invested to get our kids the best education they can. We truly love Hawthorne Academy."
