"I used to really enjoy this location, but it has seemingly gone downhill. I arrived at 11AM on a Monday and waited over a half an hour in line to order. No big deal, though the restaurant is absolutely understaffed. I order, the cashier is not attentive to what I am asking for and the default POS system doesn't have a "No Tip." Option immediately available. I tipped, and I wish I hadn't. I waited another 35 minutes for my to-go order, got home as I was now running late only to find that no utensils or napkins had been provided in the bag, though it had been annoying tied off to prevent checking in store, my food was overcooked, and the condiments were less than half full. Unpleasant overall."
"Went in today with my kids today about 12:30 as a surprise for my daughter for one of her accomplishments. We were really excited but it’s really sad to get to her favorite place and the service be so bad. The female (didn’t catch her name) appeared to not be happy to be there and almost bothered she had to take our order. She gave me attitude and rolled her eyes when I asked about a substitution on one of the kids waffles, got our older wrong and when I went to ask for our missing kids waffle she took no responsibility and made sure to explain it was my fault. We loved our waffles as always but really disappointed in her attitude and lack of customer service. Watched her give attitude to other customers and door dash drivers as we sat and ate too…"
"We were visiting Utah in September 2023 and randomly found this place as we were wanting to try waffles , even though the rating was not great for this place we wanted to give it a shot, given our craving for waffles, and we are glad that we did try out this place. We have ordered Southwest Tartine with Chicken and Nutella Love. I was pretty suspicious to try the chicken waffle ,as I was sacred that chicken might not have been well cooked, however I was so wrong. One of the best savory waffle i tried and their southwest sauce was the hero for this dish. The nutella love with strawberries was a perfect ending. I am surprised that this place has such low ratings at this location, the only reason I could think off is if the service could have been more better and welcoming could help this place rating. The service was okay, nothing bad or against but if the service is friendly welcoming it will definitely cheer up peoples mood. Next time when In UT I would try out their Waffles again."
"I ordered for pickup, the breakfast plate, breakfast sandwich and a plain waffle. There were two good things about this experience: the bacon was tasty, and I got my order right on time. However, everything else left a lot to be desired: The waffles on the breakfast sandwich were absolutely undercooked (they were pallid), the eggs on both meals were bitter, overcooked and grey/black in color, and the sausage was over-cooked. The plain waffle had black flecks on it from a waffle iron that hadn't been cleaned between waffles. I also witnessed both employees behind the counter basically throw the food together in the boxes, and they seemed fairly annoyed to be there. I suspect they were understaffed or the actual cook called in sick or something. The restaurant wasn't busy though. There was one family there, the matriarch of which was asking how long she had to wait for coffee. This is part of why I think they were understaffed: there should be someone taking payments, someone cooking, someone plating/preparing drinks, and someone clearing tables/washing dishes at the very, very least. While this isn't a good look for this store, it's an even worse look for corporate because, in my experience, when employees are confident that management has their back, that they know how to work their way around a kitchen, and feel as if the team they're working with is decent, then even the most annoying service job can be generally tolerated with grace. Understaffing also isn't the fault of the employees, but of the management and upper management who determine the store culture, the wages and benefits that bring people in for employment, and then maintain the employees they hire. If you take care of your employees, they'll take care of the customers and business. In short, there are some issues at the West Valley store that need to be addressed beyond "we'll speak to the staff about it"."
"We were visiting from Kansas City. Found this place and it looked good. The place was a little deceiving, not fancy or busy, but great food. Everything we ate was good. I wish I could have ordered something sweet, but they closed before I could order."
