Reviews
"AWFUL!!! My review was a 5 star but as of the last few months… that’s changing. I get groceries here usually every week on Thursday evening. I used to work for Smiths and I’m very disappointed with how this store is ran. Cashiers are absolutely rude. At least the evening shift ones. Three times now with two different (middle aged) female checkers. I’m not acknowledging when I’m unloading and they don’t converse with me as they’re scanning my items. I’M the one who tries to say hi to them instead or make conversation (this happened today 22 Mar 2024). The policy I was trained on is to be friendly, talkative and customer forward, while being fast. Last week, one of your checkers AGAIN didn’t acknowledge or talk to me. I told her I had two 40 packs of the Kroger water in my cart and she stared at me with a dirty look on her face. Then she goes “you mean CASES of water?” Correcting me with such a rude tone. That wasn’t necessary. I felt so awkward, I was doing my best to be kind to her by saying I was sorry… 3 times. That alone makes me not want to come back. Lastly, the baggers. They need bag training. They waste bags by putting 3 random small items in one.. Learn some bag etiquette. Don’t put non food items with food… double bag anything heavy. It’s common sense. Utterly disappointed. Do better."
"I just tried to use a Smith's digital coupon for the first time. This is such a hassle. I couldn't get it to work so an employee tried to help. They couldn't get it to work either. If Smith's really wants my email address so they can send me marketing materials why don't they just simply ask for it? I would appreciate honesty rather than this gimmick. Lee's regularly has great deals and they don't try to force me to use an unfunctional app. I will NOT be using Smith's digital coupons and I will simply purchase those items elsewhere."
"Early morning, cashier was not happy I was sent to the register. Lady at self checkout was (as usual) awesome, but not the cashier. If you are not happy about coming to work, then dont."
"Worst self checkout experience ever. They assume all their customers are theifs. Don’t move your item fast enough, you’ll need help. Buy too many items, you’ll need help. Don’t put your item down fast enough, you’ll need help. Between that and the ridiculous security doors this is easily the worst shopping experience in Utah. At this point I will no longer be shopping at smiths and going to Lees instead."
"Always loved Kroger! I've been a customer for many years. My son was employed there for quite a few years & he loved it too! I'll never be as loyal of a customer to any other store like I am to Smith's! They are & have always been my #1 go to supermarket! From their prices to their wide selection of products, I don't think they can get much better or make me any happier than they've made me over the past several years..."
