"Our son is in 1st grade and absolutely loves this school and is proud to attend. We love it, too, and see the rigor in academics evidenced in his academic success and love for learning. My son is challenged appropriately for his level and is grouped with similar kids, so there is good peer challenge and support, too. I cannot believe the adeptness with which my 1st grader can read, write, and do math (all above his grade level), and these are all skills he's honed since kindergarten and thanks to this school's focus on these basics. My son also loves the "specials" - PE, art, music, computer technology - so there is a good balance of creative learning alongside academics. We feel this school takes the social environment and seriously as they do the academics, and keep our children safe (or at least as safe as they are able) with a zero-tolerance policy towards bullying. As a parent, we are always informed, well-communicated with, and I've felt comfortable expressing concerns. Of note, my son is not a perfect angel and has his own fair share of "behavioral problems" - he's wiggly, talks a lot (he's so excited about everything and very social), and can be argumentative. He has NOT been suspended or expelled, and I feel both his kindergarten and 1st grade teachers have gone above and beyond to set him up for success (wiggle chairs, incentive programs, appropriately challenging school materials) and help modify his behavior (individual feedback, building trust). This comes with good communication with us, his parents, so we are echoing the same message at home and at school. I am so thankful to his teachers who believe in him. I truly adore this school, its mission, and the growth-oriented values it imparts to our children. We are so thankful for WSA!"

My son is only in kindergarten and is already reading. This is school is the best! Also they really care about kids safety and they truly enforce the no bullying policy. "Wallace Stegner Academy is an amazing school, and we are so lucky our daughter is able to attend there. We moved her there mid-year, which was an adjustment, but it has been the best decision. She looks forward to going everyday, and she is always excited to share what she has learned. "I have two sons that go here. I’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences. So far between the two we’ve had three teachers. All have been amazing at communicating and really worked with and encouraged my boys. I also have found that the administration has also been great to respond. Before we came to Wallace we dealt with a year of public school that was filled with terrible communication and uncertainty. Wallace saved us last year too during Covid. My son was able to go to school in person safely and just flourished being able to be there. We are so happy we found Wallace Stegner."
