"They wouldn't tell me anything.. My sister just passed. I'm trying to get her 401k. No help"
"Would not recommend, gave me a quote, called me 10 times to get things going, then said they couldn’t insure my business so transferred me to another company, then was told to call back to heartford and they said still a no. Customer service was horrible and were short with me on the phone and ended up just wasting my time. Would not recommend."
"We began using The Hartford in the spring of 2022. On February 23, 2023, I gave birth through a cesarean section, and my short-term disability insurance process began as I went on maternity leave. My last day of work was February 22, 2023. Despite the Benefit Date of March 2, I did not receive a first payment from Hartford until April 11 after inquiring multiple times regarding the status. This put a strain on my finances during an already stressful time with a newborn. It was around that time that I received my first email notification about my insurance claim. On April 6, I received an email stating my claim was approved from March 2 to May 24. Five days later, I received another email with the same dates with an addition that the total number of days authorized was 91. This all made sense; the proposal we received from The Hartford states a 12-We Benefit Period multiple times, and my doctor also signed off for 12 weeks. Due to these emails and the original proposal, my employer and I set a plan that I would return to work fulltime on May 25 as insurance would help cover my absence until that time. Unfortunately, after April 28 . weekly payments of $573.37 ceased. We inquired and were told that The Hartford would retro the payments. We waited. By early June, the missing dollars, around $2,000, were certainly felt, so I followed up again on June 9 asking for a call back. I did not receive a call back. On June 14 -- 15 weeks post delivery -- I received another email from the Hartford, now stating that my Approved Through Date was April 19. By this time, the damage was done. I had not received full payment from my employer between February 23 and May 24 as we expected The Hartford to cover it as they indicated they would multiple times back in April. I cannot go back and work those five weeks so that I earn the lost money. I appealed on June 15 and received notification on July 24 my appeal was denied. It is clear the appeal was never read."
"I'm an AARP member is the reason I called this business. I was denied renters insurance because a. Previous claim was made at the address three years ago before I moved in. The insurance agent asked me if I had any claims before I told her no. When she found the claim she said to me I thought you said you never had a claim. As if I was lying I have never had renters insurance. The agent said that it's because of the location of the area. due to their policy, unfortunately, they can't give me renters insurance. I felt discriminated against the previous claim before I moved in. Has nothing to do with me, & the comment about the area & location that was unprofessional & very rude,."
"They advertise your rates won't go up after your first acciden . I was sent a letter after my first accident that my rate was going up because of my accident. I also took my car to the dealer they told me to get an estimate at. The estimate was over 1800.00 dollars. With my $1000 deductible I was asked if I wanted the money sent to me or the dealer. I asked to send it to me. I received a little over $300.00"
