Oklahoma City Ballet
About the Business
Oklahoma City Ballet, located at 6800 North Classen Boulevard in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is dedicated to inspiring audiences through classical and contemporary dance performances, a robust educational program, and community engagement. The institution's Yvonne Chouteau School offers classes for all ages, from beginners to advanced dancers.
In addition to its commitment to the art of dance, Oklahoma City Ballet also recognizes and honors the Indigenous peoples who have historically inhabited the lands where the institution now stands. This includes tribes such as the Apache, Caddo, Tonkawa, and Wichita, as well as those with a historic relationship to the region, such as the Comanche, Kiowa, Osage, and Quapaw. The institution acknowledges that before Statehood, the lands around Oklahoma City were federally assigned to the Muscogee (Creek) and Seminole Nations, and today, 39 distinct tribal nations reside in Oklahoma.
Oklahoma City Ballet expresses gratitude to each nation for their continued leadership in caring for and respecting the land upon which the institution operates. Special thanks are also extended to the First Americans Museum for their guidance and contribution in preparing this acknowledgment.

"In addition to performing world-class ballet, the Oklahoma City Ballet offers several community engagement programs that impact hundreds of Oklahomans annually at no cost to themselves."
"Friday night’s (10/22/21) presentation of Alice in Wonderland was a thoroughly exhilarating experience! What a treasure the OKC Ballet is for our community. The dancing was superb and the music top notch. Additionally my physical perspective being from box seating enabled me to see back stage, have a more intimate interaction with props and a perspective on lighting that was possibly enhanced beyond what others may have seen. The art of coordination that must go into every production was fascinating to observe. I found the staging and props particularly intriguing. Not only were they beautiful and extremely creative, they completely elevated the articulation of the story. Every minute detail was expertly planned and executed. The “show” was lovely and the talent, in every way, exceptional. I found “ART” in the entire, overarching weaving of complex details into a spectacular production of both the seen and unseen. My senses have been opened to the ART of the ARTS in an entirely new way. Thank you to all involved as you have created a forever fan! Bravo!!!!! Seth King Oklahoma City"
"If you haven't bought tickets for Alice in Wonderland, now is your chance to experience a delightful story with gorgeous costumes, live philharmonic music, entertaining special effects including flying, and the top-notch performance by a diverse company of dancers whose artistry, athleticism and technique are a joy to watch. The live Orchestra is conducted by the composer of the music for this ballet. I won't spoil the show, but the puppetry especially at the end is the icing on a delicious story cake. The costume design is a world class visual feast. Come see contemporary ballet at its finest!"
"Amazing company full of incredibly talented dancers that I have gained the pleasure of calling many of them my friends over the years. You will never be disappointed when attending a production put on by Oklahoma City Ballet. I am grateful that they bring beauty and magic into my life every season."
