"I have three very memorable encounters with Animal Welfare - two involving cats, and one involving rescuing an injured bird. The staff have been, on each encouter with me, courteous, careful (with the animals), and compassionate (towards the animals), as well as professional and helpful. I am thus highly appreciative of their work and efforts."
"Wouldn't accept 4 strays we found near Lindsey. They kept pressuring us and didn't believe us they told us they wouldn't take them. We already had 6 pets, and we couldn't have more. When we drove off, my mom had a breakdown, and it seemed like she was going to have a heart attack and had to pull over. Dont recommend it. This shelter needs new management and a talk."
"For starters we took a cat that an off duty Cleveland County Officer (Officer Matt Perry) shot and killed for no reason so they had to do an autopsy and kept telling us they would call when the ashes were ready but they didn't and when we called again they told us they threw them away. Months later I found 3 kittens and being afraid that same cop might shoot them I tried taking them to this same place and the lady at the front desk kept asking if they are mine and threatening that I will be in a lot of trouble if they found out they were mine. First of all we pay taxes for this kind of stuff. At the end they would not take the kittens. Very disappointed in this place and thanks for making sure our tax dollars are waisted. The lady was very disrespectful."
"I had heck finding the right kitten after my cat passed. I went to several pounds in several towns. I saw 2 kittens on the Norman animal control website. They have the best website of any of the shelters. When I got there I met my kitten. She has been a wonderful addition to my pack"
