"Got admitted for 6 days after being promised an overnight stay, therapist told me 2 days, and then it suddenly gets extended to 6. The beds were AWFUL. Quite literally felt like sleeping on rocks, the pillows were thin, and the blankets were just big towels. It didn't help that the bed and pillow were covered in plastic so all you hear is the sound of crunching right next to your ear anytime you moved. The food was always cold and thrown together as if the chef was a former amazon employee. The best meal there is probably the grilled cheese, which is always cold or slightly warm, and they gave you the saltiest chips possible; lays original. I would LOVE more options for chips because the lays hurt my tongue, and the grilled cheese was SOGGY.. The techs were okay, but one little slip-up gets you an extra 3 days. Not to mention they have all of the kids drugged out of their minds, Consistent zoloft, and extra meds that kept some of the kids dizzy. Honestly, if I had the choice to pick where to go instead of here, I'd say red river SOLELY because of what I've heard of it. 1/10 would rather point a gun at the roof of my mouth than go back."
"I went to cedar ridge for 2 months and it was definitely an experience... The staff most of the time were OK? The beds were hard to sleep on. The blankets were itchy and weird. The therapist barely listened to anything I said It felt like the only time they cared about me was when I was leaving. Like making my hair look nice and stuff. The food was eh. The rooms were small and cramped I hope the kids are having a better experience now!!"
"Our daughter was at Cedar Ridge in acute care for a little over 2 weeks. We felt the staff was professional, helpful and kind to us and in their support of our daughter’s situation. Rhoda, our daughter’s therapist, was excellent. She communicated with us when we had questions/concerns. She was perceptive of our daughter’s issues and it seemed she counseled her appropriately. She was invested in the improvement of our daughter’s mental health. We are grateful for the help of Cedar Ridge."
"I did not like this hell hole. Back in 2016 or 2017 I was admitted to cedar after my doctor gave me a mental health test as immediately I went through those doors at at the age 13 I just wanted to end it. Could hear other patients crying and screaming as I was in one of the rooms. Course I was alone at the time with them shutting the doors for no reason. But when I didn't sleep after 5 minutes of bed time was announced I. Was given needles that would knock me out as I chose not to say or remember what happened next. My pants were down to my ankles and I felt wrong. The staff however made me feel like this is the place where I deserved to die. To live like a animal. Some memories I do remember some I don't. But What I do remember is this place does NOT help patients. This place needs to be investigated and needs to be avoided at ALL TIMES."
"My daughter recently had a 5 day stay. Although she didn’t exactly enjoy it, she said she was treated well and felt like she was cared about. Only reason not giving 5 stars is because I had trouble getting her meds as it wasn’t sent to the pharmacy until after I called them, but they did fix that pretty fast. I often hear horror stories about these places and am so happy that wasn’t my child’s experience. Shout out to nurse Tracy who kept me informed and my daughter very much respected her and the other people working there."
