"March 2nd This building is on fire. I just hope no one's hurt. But I've heard so much good stuff about IHS, But I've never been."
"I was sent in circles the previous day with another facility with a broken arm, I then came here and Bobbie and Randy with the area office went above and beyond and took care of everything for me. They made an already extremely stressful situation so much better."
"Very friendly and was very helpful. The lady answered all my questions and was very caring."
"The opportunity for new leadership at IHS will begin to challenge the existing network of out of date policies and procedures such to ensure that all Native Americans receive the services required to save our children in urgent Healthcare situations. My great great great grandmother survived the Trail of Tears, and her resilient attitude has lead our family for multiple generations. Today, I'm sadden by the news that our system is designed to fail families and children whom require urgent care. Our Dr. was informed within 24 hours of our emergency room visit and the treatment plan from OU Children's Hospital. She was amazingly wonderful and put our Healthcare needs first. We were able to visit to our primary pediatrician office within 24 hours after the 1st Emergency Room Visit prior to surgery. The staff was aware of his medical roadmap planned and was confident that they would work with OU to provide the best care possible. We even visited IHS prior to surgery to ensure that our primary insurance would pay, and our secondarywoild be paid by the tribe. We revered our system and complimented their compassion and commitment. We made sure to ask for assistance to verify we had followed all policies such that there would not be any surprises. As a Native American Women whom believes in the core values of our tribe, I was sadden by the actions of IHS following his surgery to remove the mass on his kneck. Seems the policies outlined by designed to not provide native children urgent assistance. I'm surprised! And honestly I am in shock that the native medical system is failing to provide funds for Native American citizens that have urgent issues. With all the funds available from profits made by casinos and tobacco companies operating on Native land, our people should never go without. We are grateful to be aware that the support system at IHS is inadequate. And, I challenge the leadership to fix the system inorder to provide adequate care for All Natives that have tribal citizenship. WE HAVE TO INSPIRE PROGRESS... WE HAVE TO BE COMPETITIVE. WE HAVE TO DEMAND EXCELLENCE & NEVER SETTLE FOR INADEQUATE POLICIES. It's time to reexamine our leadership if our leaders are not demanding success measured by the Health of our community. The measurement of dollars spent on Healthcare doesn't equate to success of a community. Success Must Be Redifened. Measure me by my Actions, As Actions Speak Louder than Words. #reformindianhealthcareservices #nextlevelchallange #loveislove #wecandobetter"
"I've been waiting 7 months for help. I had an allgic reaction and was rushed to the ER. I turned in all the paperwork that was asked for. I went months with no word. My bill went to collections I called to find out what was going on. I was told only half of my information was entered into the system and my bill wasn't one of them. I was told I would get a call back from someone else once this issue was sent to another person to handle. I've heard nothing back and no one will return my calls."
