"Amazing food, drinks, and service! The queso taste like melted velveta...I won't get that again."
"Last night my fiancée and I ate there. The sever was nice, but wasn’t very attentive when we told her about our Togo order from the beginning (didn’t ask to write it down when we took our dine in order, or even ask if we were ready to place it) she also forgot to add our cake to the ticket— ended up getting it Togo. We had to flag someone down to take our Togo order from our booth. It was the manager, and he seemed sharp and rushed— the restaurant didn’t seem busy or slammed. We got our Togo order, and when we got home there was no guac. Called to get the guac, thankfully they let us get it after close. When we called, the greeting was very unprofessional as they said “yo”. We get back to the house only to be told that we’re missing my mother in laws sides (that was supposed to be in the Togo Oder). I went there tonight to get the sides that were missing from Yesterday only to find the lids not secured properly. 1/5 stars. First and last time eating here. Food was good and so was the margarita."
"Consistent in Food Quality, Service, and Atmosphere There are only a couple of large corporate chain Mexican restaurants that I like. Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant is one of them. And even though I don’t dine here very often I would consider it the best. They start the meal with their chips and a nice variety four of salsas that range from sweet tomatillo (with a hint of pineapple I think), to a nice, not too hot habanero. In between, on the heat range are a mild, but flavorful tomato salsa and a chipotle salsa. All good! We had the Enchilada Lunch and the Chile Relleño and Enchilada lunch. With both of the meals we had, we picked the refried beans and Papas con Chile. The Papas con Chile is an Abuelo’s original item. This is the first time I have had it. It is kind of a mashed potato, spicy, cheesy casserole. It is rich and creamy. The red sauce my wife picked for her chicken enchilada was very good. The Chile Relleño I had was filed with seasoned shredded beef covered in queso and the tasty nicely spiced, chicken enchilada was covered in a green chili queso sauce. Good meals! Good Service, Nice restaurant! If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check out my reviews in my collection "Jalapeno Highway" on Yelp. I've probably been there."
"Nice place. Clean, polite and quick staff. Food was good but not great. Some more flavor is definitely needed. Portion to cost ratio is a little off as well. 18$ for a burrito and rice was just not right for the amount of food you receive, burrito should have been a bit bigger. Tex Mex yes, overall experience positive. I can't see myself coming back regularly but on an occasion, I don't see why not."
"I went to Abuelo's for lunch to celebrate my birthday with my kids. It was not busy. Our table of six was seated immediately. Lots of empty tables. However, we waited 15 minutes just to get our drinks after we ordered them-and it was just water. Then we waited just under an hour for our food after we ordered. We'd been there an hour and a half by this time and I had to leave for an appointment. I got a take home box, put my piping hot food in it, and rushed out the door. My kids stayed and ate. Everyone liked their food but my birthday lunch with my kids was ruined. An hour and a half for lunch when the restaurant isn't busy at all should be plenty of time to order and eat."
