Holiday Inn Express & Suites Gainesville, an IHG Hotel

"I stayed here for an overnight stay. First thing you'll notice, the hotel smelled fishy on every level. When I got to the room, it wasn't clean. The SECOND room wasn't clean either, so the fantastic desk clerk upgrsded my room to a suite. It was definitely a better room. Wasn't too pricey of a stay. Overall, for the cheapness, I recommend it. If it wasn't cheap, NOT recommended!"

"Our room was clean and I loved the layout. They do need to do some painting and drywall clean up in our room and reupholster some furniture that was cut up and in bad repair. Otherwise the room was decent."

"I gave this hotel 3 stars because I tried to submit an honest, solicited review with their survey and I tried to change their assessment of my answers and couldn't. It wouldn't allow me to change anything. So....everything was good. Service, room cleanliness, convenience and location were all really good. The only problem I had was that there was a large area of the mattress on my side of the queen bed that was so compressed that it made me feel like I was sleeping on a hillside. Consequently, did not get the sleep I really needed."

"Room was very clean, but the entire building (at least 1st floor) had a musky smell to it. Breakfast was good, lots to pick from. Customer service was average, no complaints. I always carry a black light with me to hotels, couldn't find more than a little hard water stains in my room. Even the hvac filters were clean (not a lot of hotels clean them between stays)."

"This is an absolutely disgusting place. The room was on the second floor. The floor had soft spots and felt you were going to fall through walking on it. The room looked crooked and slanted like there was some sort of foundational issue. The doors were crooked and didn't close properly. You couldn't lock the deadbolt on the door. The smoke alarm was hanging by the wires out of the ceiling. The really disgusting part was that they obviously did not change the sheets after the last guest. The whole room smelled like chlorine or bleach. I assumed it was because we were right over the pool area. What we didn't notice until the morning was there was a pee stain on the sheets. It was high up on the bed under my side. So I assume it was a kid perhaps that wet the bed. But for this hotel to not change the sheets between guests is so disgusting. I hope other people read some of these reviews and DO NOT stay here. And I hope someone from corporate sees these and goes to this location and cleans house. Disgusting."
