"On 05/2023 my grandfather was admitted Promise Health Care. He passed away 08/20/2023. I was never notified of his death to this day and found out by a friend that there was an ambulance at the facility due to his condition. I went to the facility and found him dead. Prior to this there were numerous times I would go to visit him, and he would be in soiled linens. I would clean him and change his bedding while I was there every time. Noone came in to assist with feeding and would not listen when he would request to get out of bed and in his wheelchair. He had a colostomy bag that was so full at times I would empty and clean however the site became infected. He had to have immediate surgery. This caused some regression as he was gaining strength from physical therapy. After the surgery, his condition continued worsened greatly. Tami Russell was notified numerous times about the neglect I saw when I visited and what my grandfather told me. Spanish was his first language and a specific visit I waited outside the door while he was being changed and when the “aids” were finished he relayed to me that one of them had been very rough with him. Tami was also notified of this. When I threatened to report the facility to the state I was told that it would be dealt with by the administration. Nothing was done to better my grandfather’s care while he was there. I have proof of reports and pictures I have taken. Once again, it has been 7 months since his passing and I was never notified of his death. Please do not trust this facility to care for you or your loved ones. It is very concerning that they are still practicing and they should be reported to the state and with the proof I have this is something I myself am considering."
"The staff is extremely up beat. They go out of their way to see that my needs are met. Everyone is very friendly and smiles are abundant. I reccomend this facility highly!"
"The best of all facilities, it's hard to think about leaving! Many that I love. Shawn and Mimi are the greatest. I like the food too. They try their hardest to make you happy. The doctors are great."
"My late wife was a patient here for most of April after she spent a couple of weeks at United Regional. Those weeks that she was there, she received exceptional care from her nurses, the doctors, and therapists. I visited her every day and not only was Diane treated well, so was I. There never was a day where one or all of the staff on her wing asked about my well being. I will always be grateful. I wish my wife was able to have stayed longer. I truly believe that she would be still alive. Thank you to everyone at Promise Hospital of Wichita Falls for being so kind to my wife and I. I will never forget it."
"My mom was transferred to the KPC Promise LTAC wing from OU Medical. The only reason they are getting 2 stars is because of the nursing and PT staff. They were very attentive to my mom’s needs but lacked direction from the doctor. Dr. Boyer doesn’t have any idea what he is doing. I’ve called the day shift nurse, night shift nurse and the charge nurse to ask if he would call me so we could discuss his thoughts on what was going on with my mom and what his plan was moving forward. His response to the nurse’s was “ he works at 4 other medical facilities other than KPC and is to busy to call”. This is unacceptable as a medical “professional”! My mom has steadily gotten worse over the last 3 weeks due to Dr. Boyer’s inability to treat my mom and we are currently in the process of having her moved to another facility. If you need a skilled nursing facility I believe it would be ok but if more than that PLEASE AVOID DR. BOYER AT ALL COSTS!! UPDATE: My Mom passed away 1 day later after my post. After trying to get her sent to the E.R. and Dr. Boyer refusing until I signed an AMA (against medical advice). She was sent to the E.R. because they couldn’t stabilize her and she passed away."
