"This school is a J O K E - I will always advise everyone who asks about this school to run away as fast as they possibly can!!! First, I'd like to say, that despite everything the school has done, our specific teacher was amazing. She was very active and responsive to us, and very engaging with our kiddos. Alas, the school overshadowed her with their garbage. Epic boasts about its learning fund - HA!!!! What AN ABSOLUTE JOKE!!!! The learning fun process is....the equivalent of going to the DMV. Trying to submit an order is ridiculous. It's at least 9 steps and 10/10 it will get denied. Out of the 1,000 dollars of school supplies, science kits, art supplies, etc I ordered, everything got denied for some reason. I called to ask questions, no response. I e-mailed. Nor response. I ordered from Epics' specific list of vendors - no response. I only got a response when I informed our teacher we would not be returning because of this. I submitted and resubmitted multiple items (because maybe I had done the tax and/or shipping wrong?) and they were still denied. Epics' real slogan is YOU HAVE A LEARNING FUND - DON'T EVEN BOTHER TRYING TO USE IT, BECAUSE WE'VE SET UP EVERY LEGAL ROAD BLOCK POSSIBLE TO KEEP YOU FROM ACTUALLY USING IT. Epics' next boast is "Do school on your own time" - LOL!!! More like do school when and how we say or ELSE. The curriculum(s) are something a baboon cooked up. There are MULTIPLE steps and multiple places to go - even for younger ages. The lessons are highly inappropriate for the grade levels, and each curriculum choice is worse than the last. Some of the way the videos explain things are jaw-droppingly stupid. In one instance, a YouTube video is linked and is the size of a thumbnail, unclickable (for pausing and resizing purposes) and unaccessible via going to YouTube because its behind a privacy wall. So a kid is supposed to sit there staring at this mini video for over an hour? O - K! We tried to get a resolution for this to no avail whatsoever. We wound up dropping this class. We had several meetings in which the host didn't show up, and the kids would be in the room ...waiting. After 20 minutes they'd decide as a collective to leave. Every aspect of this school is just another hemorrhoid to add to the pile. This school needs to be torn down and pieced back together from the ground up, by TEACHERS who give a sh** and not some useless garbage administrators who sit barking orders while not knowing what the actual hell is going on. I'd give the admin 10 minutes on one curriculum before they quit and threw their hands up. Instead, they pile more and more students on the already overworked teachers and then harass them about state tests. We are done with Epic and I suggest you never even get started unless you just like to give yourself headache after headache."
"I attend this school and I absolutely love it! Teachers are amazing and the staff are very nice!"
"Highly recommend you read my review. They lack the resources, activities and transparency of authentic public schools. They are a good idea but I think they need better structure for things they inherently will never have. Along with this they have disobeyed laws and done dishonest, unethical things as have been repeatedly reported on. No fan here. Along with that as a non custodial parent they have repeatedly aligned/triangulated with the pathogen of a narcissistic alienating custodial parent to the point of trying to deny me my child's education records along with not informing me that a IEP was set up for my child. This was against the law. The alienating parent never informed me. Along with that the alienating parent did not inform me that my child tested positive for autism nor did his teacher or the school. As a non custodial parent you can easily fall through the cracks being discriminated against. Along with this they coordinate with Alliance therapists that all too happy to denigrate the non custodial parent to the child triangulating with a narcissistic sociopathic parent to turn your child against you as I experienced. Along with that the therapist refused to correspond with me or share whatever legally could be shared in regard to my child's mental health. Breaking the law as well. Her name is Ann Sullivan."
"We have a total of 6 students enrolled with Epic. This is our 3rd @ year Epic. All of the teachers we have had so far are excellent, appears each of the teachers in lower grades has a full time paraprofessional in class. Thus the students do get more one on one time when they attend the VLC. Teachers & staff are committed to the success of each student. Some of our children have unique learning differences/needs Epic teachers & appropriate specialists work with the student & family to determine best possible track/outcome for each student."
"New to epic as I have a kindergarten and preschooler and so far I love epic! We had a few bumps in the beginning, but now that we have found an amazing teacher for my kids and the special education department is taking great care or my kids thus far. I love that school is on our time and I can have my kids work at their own pace. We have had such a laid back experience and overall a great school! I will say I don't feel like my kids are learning but also I do, I think that may be on my end because I'm not used to such a thing with schools, I'm used to structure and do it now or else. But time will tell! i would absolutely recommend epic to anyone."
