"This place was referred to me by the employees from the Hampton Inn I must agree that this place was super impressive. Authentic, flavorful, great staff, reasonable price. No waiting. I highly recommend this place for any one looking for authentic Mexican food. They guy recommended the 3 amigos plate which had, steak, chicken, shrimp, rice and beans and a cheese enchilada. Super delicious"

"The worst tortilla soup ever tasted like watered down tomato juice and nothing but soggy tortilla strips. I only ate a few swallows before putting it back in the container and throwing it in the trash. Is there anywhere in North Platte to get a decent tortilla soup or were we just spoiled by El'Varte? PS Tasteless and the lime dry couldn't get any lime juice out of it at all but at least it wasn't awful and only half of it got thrown away."

"This place is awesome! I got the carnitas torta with a side of rice and beans. It was delicious! The server was amazing, she was super friendly and was attentive to us as we ate our food. They have awesome pictures around the restaurant, you can sit at the bar or on the tables around the place. I definately recommend coming here for some awesome authentic mexican food."

"The service here was good except we came at the tail end of the lunch rush at around 12:45 approximately. So it was a good 40 minutes of waiting for other people to get their food before they could even start cooking ours. The salsa was decent as were the chips. Because of our ended wait we went through a couple bowls of salsa and 2 baskets of chips to help kill the time. Place was clean and had a good design and layout and pleasant atmosphere. I wish the tables would of had a selection of different hot sauces to pick from instead of just one generic one. I ordered Fajitas as it's pretty hard to mess those up. But I was wrong. Food was warm , not hot and sizzling. Nothing was spiced or seasoned. The steak was under cooked and was a disturbing grayish colour and not a vibrant dark brown etc.. the peppers and onions also not properly cooked. The chicken was almost non existent and the shrimp under cooked as well and sparce to come by. The other plate had overcooked rice, or I was getting what was left from the bottom of the pot perhaps. The refried beans were runny and the wrong colour, like almost a very pale pinkish grey. The pico needed work and the guacamole was fresh, so bonus! LOL! I found out after that it was the regular chef's one day off and they had an 18 year old kid in the kitchen who was barely hanging in there after getting slammed with the lunch rush. I hope to return in the future to give this place another shot and see if they can redeem themselves."
