"Dr. Balay is absolutely AMAZING! After delivering my son, he was taken to the NICU due to low oxygen. He also had low blood sugar, and a low platelet count. Dr. Balay believed that the low platelet count was due to a rare condition referred to as Neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia (NAIT). However, she had to wait for my blood work as well as my husband’s blood work before she could confirm it. I had never heard of NAIT until Dr. Balay sat us down and discussed it. Our blood work confirmed what Dr. Balay suspected. She kept us informed on the entire process (transfusions, therapy treatment, etc) and was extremely supportive, positive, and knowledgeable. Truly a blessing and I am so thankful that she was overseeing my son’s treatment! Thank you, Dr. Balay and the absolutely amazing nurses on your team!"
